"If you are always trying to be normal, you will never realize how amazing you can be" -Maya Angelou

I cuddle inside my white sheets and pull the blankets higher up on my chin. It's warm like a hot stove. It's so comfy, and I had missed sleeping in my own bed. I hear the window creak. It had been two days since we left our adventure. I already knew who this was. Cody.

"What is it?" I sigh. This was the second night in a row he was doing this.

He slowly makes his way into my room and sits on the chair at my workplace table. He was so silent, if not for the window creak, I would have never heard him. "I talked to the Emperor about the way the kingdom should work now. I presented to him some ideas that we could use to control the magical objects. He agreed. Oh, and I returned his ring to him. I wouldn't consider something theft if it was returned to the owner." He smirks.

"So he forgave you?" I confirm in disbelief.

Cody nods. "I was thinking we could go on an adventure together. Right now."

I murmur something. "Sorry, but I'm grounded. My mom was mad on the 16.7 scale/10 when I returned. She had already called the police, but they were not available due to the craziness."

Cody opens the window with a hard clank. "Come on, get up. Or else I'm calling your mom."

I give Cody that stare that says 'I know he isn't going to do that', but out loud I say. "It's so cold."

"We can go surfing, and explore abandoned buildings, and go horseback riding and talk to ghosts and scream at each other and-"

"And I get it."

"And make memories together. Come. On." He reaches for my hand and pulls me up. I sigh, but pull myself out of bed. I knew I wasn't getting myself out of this one. Because I've learned that once in awhile, you have to be a daredevil.

Then, I approach the window, see Cody with that smirk on his face, mentally order him to wipe it off, and decide to jump out of the window with him. The last thing I see is the stars. The last thing I hear is my own scream, whopping with joy. The last thing I feel is the cool breeze swishing by my face and a hand to protect me. In that moment, I forget everything except for that girl and that boy shooting by the dark ocean full of lights.
