Chapter 1

Accepting death

Darkness, Silence and a Burning Pain surrounding me taking me in as the burning sensation absorbs my body slowly. This is it. This is the end. And this is what I get for trying to be helpful ...Death.

I start to feel myself fading in and out of consciousness. How did I even get myself into this? Oh yeah that's right! I tried to be helpful and stop a mugging. And the next thing I know some guy is ripping out my throat with his mouth...

*FLASHBACK*

"No STOP IT! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!?" I hear a woman yell as I walk home passing by an alley. I turn my head in the direction of the noise as my blonde wavy hair flipping over my shoulder. I squint my eyes trying to focus on what's happening, it is very dark and hard to see but once my eyes adjusted I could faintly see the back of a man with dirty brown hair lifting up a young woman about mid 20's against the wall.

She looks at me desperately pleading for help and obvious fear in her eyes. I finally understood what was going on, She was being mugged! If there is one thing I cannot stand it is bullies, I can't just step back and leave knowing what is going on, I mean I should he is bigger than me about 6'3 or so and I'm only 5'5 but I can't I just cant!

"HEY! YEAH YOU! PUT HER DOWN!" I yell walking towards him. He sharply turns his head to look at me. My eyes go wide and I stop dead in my tracks as he stares at me with neon green glowing eyes. That is not normal, what is he on bath salts? He smiles at me slightly amused because he sees the fear in my eyes. I quickly hide my fear I won't give him the upper hand of knowing I'm scared.

He drops the young girl and heads towards me fast, not just running fast like extremely fast kind of like a little blur. Well at least I got his attention. I position myself in a fighting stance and get prepared for a blow to the face. But that is not what I got, oh no it was much worse...

I instantly feel an excruciating pain on my neck as I heard the young woman scream in terror from his action. And then I quickly realized what he did and why she was screaming.. HE BIT ME! HE FUCKING BIT ME! I started to feel my body go limp quickly. I must be bleeding out or something. His mouth was still on my neck as I felt him bite even harder causing more pain if that was even possible. There is no doubt in my mind that he isn't on bath salts now. in try and pry him off me but I'm to weak and things are starting to go black as the crazy bath salt mugger drinks my blood.

The sounds of the screaming woman start to fade out as everything goes dark, all I hear now is the faint sound of my heart beat..

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I can't believe this is actually the end of me, I Amelia Jones a 17 year old senior will be no more soon. I start to accept death there's no need to even keep fighting this. I just wish I had more time.

I lay there in pain as the burning sensation takes over me, listening to the sound of my faint heartbeat going slowly to a stop..
