Prologue

I have never felt a greater importance until I signed up for the X-Factor, and in all honestly, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my best friend, Kasey.

Singing and dancing is my passion. I can say I've spent my sixteen years doing it. I've been doing it since I was six, but now everyone will be able to show the nation what I can do. I've always had stage fright, but now I just have to jump the guns.

My father and Kasey are the only two who knows about my hobbies. The reason for my mother's absence is uncanny. She died when I was three, so I never got to know her much, but everyday dad is telling me of how proud she would be of me.

I even had to promise Kasey that I would signup for the X-Factor as soon as I turned sixteen. Now, this is my time to shine!
