Dear diary,
I’m at this moment sitting on my bed looking at the triplets and waiting for the phone to ring, I miss Brian so much. He came to the birth of the triplets; he was so wrapped that he cried. After then I didn’t see him for a long time, he called to say good morning and good night even though the times were different, so I’ve been waiting here all day for him to call. I’m going to Joanne’s birthday bash, it’s her twenty first, it’s gonna be a really good party, everyone’s gonna be there.
There’s a knock at my bedroom door. “Come in.” “Hey Linz’” said Jenni walking into the room. “Hey, How are the boys.” “They’re fine. How’s Christian?” “She’s okay, she’s asleep.” “I’ve only just put the triplets down to sleep.” “The boys are down stairs playing hide and seek with Jenni-Kay.” “Who’s counting?” “Kev.” “Oh bless his heart, the poor boy can’t count yet.” “Well he’s trying.” “Oh bless him.” “Just like his dad he is, they both can only count to two.” “Don’t be horrible.” “He’s my husband.” “Yeah but that doesn’t mean you can be nasty to him.” “Yeah it does… I miss him you know.” “I miss Brian, strange but I think I actually miss them all, you know when you miss all the things they do and say.” “Yeah I know what you mean.” At that point the doorbell goes. “I’ll get for mom.” Said Jenni running to the door, she reaches up for the handle and with a lot of force the door opens. “Hey pumpkin. Don’t let your mom know I’m here will you?” “No.” “Where’s mommy?” “Upstairs.” “Take this note up to her for me.” “Yeah.” Jenni takes the note and runs up the stairs. “Mommy, someone gave me a letter to give to you.” “Give it here then.” Jenni-Kay gives me the note. I opened the note. Inside it read.
To my darling sweetheart,
It’s me again…. I thought I would write you a note to say hi, and I miss you. Sorry about the writing but I’m writing it in a car, and it’s moving. Hello Jenni, we are at this moment in Manhattan. AJ is asleep as always, Nicks on the game boy, Howie is looking at the window and Kev is watching over me, to make sure that I don’t make any spelling mistakes. I hope to see you in a very short while, well as short as we can make it anyway.
Love forever
Brian.
We both started laughing. “I’m gonna make a cup of tea, you want one?” “Yeah please.” “Come on then.” We walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Where have the kids got to?” “I don’t know… Jenni! Jenni!” “I’m here mommy.” “Are you meant to be hiding?” “I am.” “Be quiet then otherwise they’ll find you.” “Kevin’s still counting, he hasn’t even got past two.” “How long did that take him?” “I don’t know, I was too busy hiding.” “I suppose I better go and help him.” “Alex is in the wash basket.” “Well are you still playing?” “Yeah.” “Leave him in there then.” “Good dear antie Jen.” “I’ll go and help Kevin count, Hide again so he doesn’t find you straight away.” “Hockey pokey.” Jenni-Kay opens one of the small cupboards in the kitchen and climbs in. Jenny grins at Linzi and goes to the door of the front room and walks in. “Hi Guys… Kevin, honey, are you ok or do you want mummy to give you a hand?” “Me cool, I got to three.” “Well done, you’re a clever boy aren’t you. Carry on then.” “One… two… three… one… two… three.” Jenny smiles at him and walks back to the door. “Bye guys.” Jenny walks out.
