In an old orphanage where every child is left at a very young age, an old lady accepts them in her small empire, to teach them manners and morals, to fill the love and hope they looked for the most. Ms. Lee Gi, an old lady who opened an orphanage to help orphans who were left brutally to the community.
*Flashback*
In a cold night of 2002, Ms. Lee Gi has left the bank, and while walking through the pouring rain which was fading the vision away, she found a shadow who was selling a pure newborn soul to the masters of Korea. Those masters who run away from crimes by bribes, those masters who wants more than what they have so they buy girls to be entertainments for others.
Ms. Lee hid behind the wall and careful about not making the seller see her.
" How old is she?" The guy asked while taking the new-born child and analysing her.
" Probably six months" The seller answered with a smirk of a winner.
"I guess we're gonna teach her the basics then." The guy grin while looking at the baby and cradled her.
"Dirty little filthy basics like the whore before her?" The seller laughed at his own mock.
Ms. Gi felt disgusted from his words, from someone looking like a gentleman. She glanced at the poor child who was swaddled in the guy's arm then went out with a glare on her face and looking at them with eyes full of disgust and hate.
The seller and the gentleman looked at her in shock and ran away, throwing the child behind, Ms. Gi felt her heart was almost going to drop when she saw the baby flying in air, but a deep breath was taken in when she caught the baby as if she was catching her heart from flying far away.
She looked at the runners with hate but at the baby with mercy and care, then she started to cradle her in her arms because of its cries and soon she knew that it was a baby girl, she saw the hope and the love growing in her brownish glittery eyes and her small hands that looked like small paws because of how soft they are and maybe the sun gave her a part of it to announce its new-born on earth because of her tan that was different from all the white she's seen in her life and since then she dedicated her life to take care of her and other children so she named her Jaewoo.
*End of Flashback*
" Aren't you going down, Jaewoo-ah?" Ms. Gi asked Jaewoo after she entered Jaewoo's room who that she gave it to her because she became an adult.
"I don't want to play with kids anymore" Jaewoo murmured while watching the kids from her bow window.
"Why?" Ms. Gi frowned then continued questioning, " Did anyone of them do annoy you or do anything to you?"
"The real question is, do you think anyone of those little demons can do that?" Jaewoo gave a sarcastic grin while looking at the young demons playing around.
Ms. Gi giggled then sat beside her and asked, " What's wrong?"
" I'm the only grown up here so it's annoying to be between noises and then I have to wake them up, dress them up and feed them as if I was their guardian!" Jaewoo gave a sigh out while fixing her position
"I told you to get married and have a life but" Ms. Gi words were cut off by Jaewoo and said in an annoyance " And I refused, and I'll always refuse!"
" But this is not how life goes on!" Ms. Gi looked at her with worried eyes and shock.
"Who cares about life?!" Jaewoo gave a sarcastic sigh then continued" I'm going to die anyways so why would I bother about someone!"
" Can you stop talking about death?!" Ms. Gi sighed then continued "Jaewoo-ah, don't you want kids?!" Ms. Gi looked at Jaewoo with hope that she would change her view towards life.
"So that I throw them to streets?" Jaewoo eyes got widen because of disbelief then continued " No thanks, I'd rather take care of myself than taking care a crying baby."
Ms. Gi sighed then nodded " As you want Jaewoo-ah."
Afterwards, Ms.Gi stood up and went outside of her room then went down stairs with distress because of what happened so she decided to distract herself by going out to the yard and watching the kids playing which somehow lightened her a little bit from inside until a black car approached the orphanage and entered then an old lady wearing black dress with a black fur coat above it then removed her dull glasses when she walked towards Ms.Gi and shook her hand which made all the children stop what they are doing and look at her.
"Do you think she'll take one of us?" The young girl asked while looking at her and Ms. Gi which made all the children whisper to each other in wonder.
"Excuse me but can we talk somewhere away from the them?" The woman in the black clothes asked in a murmured tune.
Ms. Gi nodded and gestured with her hand for the kids to not bother and focus on playing then went to her small office followed by the lady and sat there together.
