A month later....

Alex trotted down the streets of Paris, taking note of the many store's windows that have no signs he's seeking. His phone continuously buzzed, him groaning in response. Ever since the party, him and Alya have been seeing each other, for she had grown attached to him, and he couldn't just easily hurt her. But, a man does need his space. She always calls him, wanting to come over and know about one another really well, while honestly, Alex just wants the fun part of her.

Yea yea yea, he may be a douche for being that way, but can anyone blame him? He himself witnessed what caused his parents' deaths, had to ensure that his and his sister's transformation wasn't really questioned, thankfully their aunt had never seen them or had a picture. They had to abandon their grandparents, and not even attend their funeral for that could have even spiked up problems that the siblings could not afford. They had changed roles basically, he was the quiet one while she was the outgoing and happy one, but now he's the silly and happy one, while she's the always serious and quiet.

Well, sorta at least. Melody had a little change ever since she's become a part of the group that he witnessed at the party. She talks to them, but barely, only speaking when spoken to. She didn't laugh once since the party, or barely smiled for that matter. Alex doesn't know whether to be somewhat relieved that she's not changing drastically, or worried. She still openly talks to him.... At times. It's the usual.

Going back to him though, he shouldn't be scorned or disciplined for his ways. But, there's a beast that does exactly that. She gladly torments him with factors like age, and how she knows his actual antics. She reminds him everyday that it won't work, that it should end quickly before things get taken too far. And sadly, she lives with him. His sister acts more like a mother than anything, but now who can blame her? Enough of this blaming.

Whenever he can, he leaves the house so he can clearly avoid her, and pressure Alya to skip school or wait for her at her own house. He also avoids her parents, even though she insists he meet them. He would then come back minutes before midnight, assuming his sister had fallen asleep, but being caught as she addresses him at the door, even though she has school, or even early practice for her gymnastics course. Even so, she wouldn't say anything, except shake her head and disperse into her room.

This morning, she reminded him about their deal. No matter what, one cannot get away from this girl. He tried to talk her out of the deal, but she ignored him, and left off with a "At least look like a somewhat responsible brother". This made him reconsider everything, and her words hurt him slightly, but he shrugged it off, and instead went to look for one.

He was just about to give up, when a corner bakery caught his eye. The sign clearly splayed that they needed someone to work there, so he quickly crossed the street, and observed the exterior briefly, before entering. The smell of vanilla and flour hit his nose, and he almost tasted the many sweets tauntingly sitting in the display. A woman with a somewhat familiar hair color addressed him.

"Hello. Can I help you?"

"Uh. Yea, I came to apply for a job."

The woman nodded warmly, and evacuated briefly behind a door, her calling for someone and the two whispering before a man past the woman, him being much bigger.

"Ah. So you came to apply huh??"

Alex nodded, making sure to stay at ease.

"Well. Then you start right now."

"What!?"

Alex stared at the man clearly confused. He could have sworn he had to be asked questions and at least display his own skills. He even did research before heading out!!! The older man chuckled.
