Prologue-Backgrounds
Tony Bassaru- A typical cabby in New York city minus one thing-- He likes his job! But when Tony is being pressured to join The Mob, some problems arise and he has to try to juggle working, keeping his social life up and running while his father is gone, which is most of the time. This tall, black-haired, hard-working twenty one year-old has seen more than maybe even his father, but still is always happy and ready with a smile and a solution. He rarely gets angry and has a militaristic personality after serving three green beret tours in Iraq. He was raised Catholic, as were the girls, but decided to become a christian, because Catholosism was to easy a concapt. He really only has three friends, Carlos, Lenny and Frankie, but he's fine with his sisters there as well. Even in the event of the death of his mother when he was just thirteen, he didn't cry a single tear and always there for his sisters. He loves them unconditionally and wishes to spare them from what he has seen.
Sofia Bassaru- A doe eyed eighteen year old pretty Italian girl from New York, who's considered a lot more fragile and innocent then she actually is. She is like the mother figure in the odd family since their mother passed away. Around her father and two younger sisters she is gentle, caring, and calm, but when she is out with her older brother and unruly friends she is everything to the contrary. With her long, wavy, jet black hair, big deep brown eyes, full lips, little nose, and attractive tall body, she can pass herself as sweet, but can also get every boy in New York to do whatever she wants--except her father; the only man she wishes would listen to what she has to say.
Maria Bassaru- A fifteen year old sheltered girl in the Bassaru family that sees more than you would guess. She looks slightly different than her twin with her blue eyes, but she still has the jet black hair, high cheekbones, full lips, and curvy body that run in the family. She knows the effect she has on most men, and tends to use it to her advantage. She isn't quite to any extent, yet knows what she should and shouldn't say when their father is around. She wants to know what's out in the world, its too big to see it all so she is happy with the little part that she is allotted. However she does want to know why there her father is so secretive sometimes.
Lucia Bassaru- A quirky fifteen year old girl that is curious but happy with what she already knows. Like her twin, Maria, she is sheltered, but still outrageously mischievous. Her black hair, high cheek bones, bright eyes, cute noes, piano hands, and slim body she is beautiful, but doesn't flaunt it, let alone even knows about it. She is respectful most of the time except for when she lets slip the defiant teenager she is becoming. However, she never slips up around father. She starting to move away from the traditional, strict way she was raised, and coming into her own, but not without mistakes along the way.
Salvatore Bassaru- A mysterious figure, Salvatore is the father of the Bassaru clan. He loves his twins, but can't stand his other daughter, and doesn't understand his son. He thinks he knows what's best for each of his children, although he really doesn't. It bothers him that his son is unwilling to join The Mob, but he's stubborn and is going to stop trying. He has big plans for Sofia, like a planned marriage to an opposing Mob Underboss. He became more reclusive after his wife, Anna died and even sometimes refuses to speak to little Lucia. A strict Catholic man, his age is unsure, but is believed to be around fifty. He is also a Mob Boss for the Prosciutto clan and just wants to have what he wants.
We are the Bassaru family. We hold Honor and Chivalry above all but our faith. We have our differences but will always be a family. Per sempre e sempre. We are the mob.
