"Are you going to drink that?" Sean takes the seat next to me at the bar and eyes my still full glass of scotch.
"Nah, take it." I slide the glass over to him, not caring if any liquid sloshes over the edge as it moves. "So, where ya been all night?"
"Well." He trails off slightly, avoiding my gaze.
"Look, You can tell me if you were with Marco." I sigh. "In the same way that I won't hold back telling you I was with Jesse."
"Man, that's totally different." He shoots me down. "You don't like Marco 'cause he's just generally a jackass. I hate Jesse because he slept with my girlfriend."
"Ex." I state. "Ex-girlfriend. And how is that Jesse's fault? Aly's the one who cheated on you."
He groans, downing the whole glass in one big gulp. "Don't remind me. I finally think I'm ready to move on, so thinking more about Al would just ruin my mood."
"Move on?" I ask. Sean had been devastated when him and Alyssandra had first broken it off. He even cried, but I would never tell anyone. I get that she cheated on him, but it sucks because I know how much he loved her. Like how much I love Maressa. "Does that mean you have a certain someone in mind?"
"I don't know. I thought I did."
I grin a little bit. "But?"
"But then I saw her driving away with Graly." I cringe at the dreaded name. Over the years, Aly and Grace have practically molded into one person, so some of the guys refer to them as a single human being rather than two. "Maybe Aly could sense that I liked her and just wanted to stop me from having any kind of happiness."
"Wait. The new girl?" I ask. "Really?"
He shrugs. "I don't know. I was talking to her and she seemed cool."
"Well yeah, she's hot. But dude, she already like Aly's new best friend."
"And how would you know that?" He questions.
"Because the three of them are out on the beach with my sister." Despite my twin's choice of friends, she doesn't act much like them. Girl's like Alyssandra are pretty commonly known as bitches. And then you Grace who's been slutting it up since middle school. Loren kept up her grades, rarely had boyfriends, and never gotten in trouble with the cops; Aly got arrested for underage drinking last month and twice before that.
"Dude, we need to make a move!" Sean slaps my shoulder and I almost choke.
"What? Why?" I look at him like he's crazy.
"Because. I want to talk to Amalia."
"You want to talk to Amalia, right in front of Aly." I try to clarify his thinking.
"Yeah."
I blink slowly and rub my temple. "That's just a stupid idea." I shake my head and he takes a deep breath.
"Fine. Guess I'll just wait and do it tomorrow on the way to her house-"
"Her house?" I breath. "What the hell are you doing going to her house?" I slap him back, but across the chest instead of the shoulder.
"A project." He says.
"Isn't that like, the number one excuse kids use when they wanna go have sex?"
Sean looks at me like I'm not taking this seriously enough. "Cannon, lets think back to a certain sophomore who decided to walk right up to a girl and tell her she was hot."
"Whoa! Don't question my methods. That stunt got me Ess, and I will never let you forget that." If anyone else would have done that, they wouldn't have gotten anything out of it. And I have to admit, publicity has it's benefits. Also, me getting together with Maressa was previous to the whole incident with Isis- who's supposed to be meeting me here in twenty minutes.
