The next morning.
Around 9:00 I woke up went to the bathroom brushed my teeth and washed my face. then walked towards the closet and picked out some shorts and blue tank top with my blue converse and laid it out on my bed. And went in the bathroom and took care of my hygiene.
30 mins later I finally got out dried myself and proceeded to get dress. I wand curled my hair. which took about maybe 15-20 mins. I was looking at the mirror making sure I looked presentable
My phone begin to ring it was Marlin.
Me:Hello!
Marlin: "Goodmorning Beautiful"
Me: I chuckled "good morning"
Marlin: "How'd you sleep?"
Me: "Good. You?"
Marlin: "I sleep alright. You ready?"
Me: "Yep!"
Marlin: "Come Outside! I'll be pulling up in a sec."
Me: "Ok" I hung up I got up and headed out the door.
He pulled up in a Blue Range Rover that shit was wet! Hella nice. He got out and opened the door for me I got in he closed the door and finally got in himself. "Hey beautiful." He said trying to kiss my cheek
"Excuse me I don't wanna break out. don't just be kissing on me. Ion no where your lips been." I said as I moved my face. laughing a little bit.
"I'm sorry! They haven't been no where." He laughed. As he pulled off and headed to the restaurant. We pulled up to Perkins! We walked in and waited to be seated
Waiter: How many?
Marlin: Two
Waiter: Booth or Table?
Marlin: Booth
He escorted us to our table and we each sat on one side.
Waiter:Here are you guys menus can I start you off with something to drink?
Mariah: I'll have a apple juice.
Marlin: Orange Juice
Waiter: Ok! I'll go get those for you give you time to sort through the menu my name is Terrance I'll be you waiter this morning.
Marlin: Ok thanks!
The waiter proceeded to walk off.
"I think imma get the strawberry pancakes." I said to Marlin "Get whatever you like." I looked up at him. He was smiling. I chuckled. "Tell me about yourself." I said "Well I'm 18 years old. I graduate from Whitefish Bay with honors. I live in Cleveland, Ohio so not to far from here. I live with both of my parents. I'm the baby of the family. I have two older sisters I'm a good guy! Put God first in everything I do that's about it." He said licking his lips. "Now that I told you about me, tell me about you." He said
"I'm 18 I graduated from Lakeside High-school. I graduated with honors as well. I live in Atlanta with my mom and twin sisters.
My father was in and out my life growing up we don't have a relationship. I haven't seen him in about year. I'm in the process now of getting my Associates Degree In Business!"
I said "Look like we both have some of the same similarities. Huh"
The waiter brought our drinks!
Waiter: Are you guys ready to order?
Mariah: Yes! I'll take the strawberry pancakes
Waiter: and you sir!
Marlin: I think I'll have to same thing as well with extra whip cream.
Waiter: Ok! I'll get that going for you guys I can take you guys menus
We gave him our menus. He pulled his phone and took a picture of me while I was looking down on my phone and post it on Snapchat it just so happened I was already on Snapchat so I was the first to see it.
I laughed. "Really, that was cute tho!" He came to my side of the table "Cmon let's take a picture." I was smiling for a min.
" It's a video." He laughed "You petty! Y'all follow me Tho!" I said playing in my hair "@YeahhThatssMariahh" I said and posted it. He took my phone. And grabbed my thumb to unlock my phone. He went to Snapchat and start recording himself. "Breakfast date with this beauty right here." I laughed "boy stop." Covering my face. "You'll get on my Snapchat telling people to follow you and stuff but won't talk to your own friends" He said laughing "anyway y'all follow ya boy @MarHill I'm taking over." He posted it.
We were playing around on Snapchat till finally our food arrived. Marlin moved back across and the waiter sat our food in front of us. "Thank you!" I said "your welcome you guys enjoy your meal." We begin to eat our food. My phone begin to ring it was Amiyah "Hello!" I said as I answered
"Well Goodmorning, you just left me! Huh?" I laughed "You already know where I'm at?" I said to her. "Where at? I forgot!" She said. I turnt the camera on Marlin. "Oh yeahhhhh!" She said being sarcastic. "Hey Brother" Amiyah said to him. He laughed
"What's up sis." He said "Girl I'll call you later I'm eating right now." I said to her
"Mhm bye y'all, have fun." I hung up
"She a mess." I said "That she is " He said in response.
We finished eating our food. Payed the bill and headed to the car. We pulled up back on campus and he begin to show me around.
"This is the field and track! Where most of our games will be." He said "you play football?" "Yeah of course. Football. Basketball you name it. I even run track sometimes." He said. "Oh really I run too. Let's race!" I said walking the in field. He chuckled "You gone be mad at me by the end of the race but ok! On your MARK..... Get Set..... GO.!!!!!!!!" We both start running he got ahead of me, I got ahead of him it kept becoming a repetitive thing.
I finally got back ahead of him and Won!
I was breathing heavy and so was he.
"Well! Look like you'll be the one mad." I said laughing "leave me alone." He said walking off. I laughed. I been running since I was in middle school up until highschool. I even did cross country. "Aw is the whittle baby mad." I said tryna grab his hand but he kept moving. Still laughing! "You mad at me now." I asked. "It's not funny I just got a cramp in my leg." He said "Right!" I said being sarcastic.
"It's okay, practice makes perfect." I said laughing "you tryna be funny huh!" He said walking up on me "Nooooooooo!" I said laughing backing up. "Oh ok!" He smiled.
We begin to head back! We were standing outside my dorm.
"Thanks for the breakfast. It was delicious. and the toooooourrrr" in Kevin Hart voice
I said to him. He laughed. "Anytime. Well until next time I guess." He says
"While we wait for for the next time you might wanna get some practice in." I said "what you mean by that?" He say "Running. It's not really your thing. You should start a new hobby" I say He smacks his lips. "I told you I had a cramp in my leg plus My medals and Journal Sentinel says different." He said showing her the article and the pictures of his medals.
"Hm! Interesting I guess I was wrong after all." I said
So what he run and he got medals and made it to the newsstand and all this extra stuff.
I still won😛
"You think!" He said being sarcastic
"Ion see you with nothing." He said
"Ok! And? Don't get to feeling yourself." I said
He laughed
"Can I take you out again?" He ask
"I don't know. I'll think about it." I told him
"Cmon! My treat ...... again." He said
She sigh! "Sure."
She start acting standoffish all of sudden but whatever I'm not gone beg and pled!
"Well I'll catch you later then." He said
"Ok!"
I proceeded to put my key in the door and went in the dorm. I walked in seeing Tiara and Amiyah standing in front of the door. They cause me to jump.
"Y'all scared the hell out of me."
"I bet. Girl so give us the juice!" Tiara says
I laughed.
"Ain't no juice we just went for breakfast and he gave me a tour of the campus." I said
"Mhm! Y'all was real buddy buddy on Snapchat though." Tiara says
"Stop it!" "Uncover your face" Amiyah said mocking me & Marlin
"Let's not forget them on the field." Tiara said laughing.
"Y'all forcing it. We ain't do nothing." I said
"Yeah ok.....yet!" Amiyah said.
Meanwhile in the Guys Dorm!
Marlin walks in. Chance was sitting on the couch on his phone.
"What up bro?" He said as they did their handshake. Chance said "Nothing much!" He said doing the handshake back.
"What you been on? you left kinda early this morning." Chance said "Yeah I had breakfast with Mariah this morning and took her on a little tour of the campus and stuff." He said
"Oh yeah! How was it?" Chance asked
"Pretty good! She -- I don't know. I think she like me just as much as I like her but she act like she afraid or something don't get me wrong I know we just met or whatever and I'm not try to move fast but she started to act standoffish towards me. As if I might've did something wrong. But I think it's because she has trust issues when it comes to men because of how everything was when she was growing up." He said
"Well let me ask you this was her father around?" Chance asked "He was in and out." He said
"9/10 that's the issue right there. Most girls are like that when they finally meet a guy who actually care." Chance said
"You think so." He said
"Yeah! Man I understand Amiyah was the same way. Amiyah was like to herself when I first met her until I finally told her like although you had a struggle and you weren't able to depend of your father which in my eyes every young lady should be able to experience before they even get into a relationship they should be able to depend on they father, but as for Mariah her situation might've been different then Amiyah's. So I can't really compare the two as much. So don't even worry about it bro all you can do is be there. She'll eventually trust you enough to open it. If you think about it she kinda already feel comfortable telling you about her situation because she already told you something's about they're relationship. He said!
"Right! Look at you. Wanna be Dr Phil head ass outta here." They both laughed
"But on a serious note I hear you bro." I said.
