Life sucks, especially mine. Actually, let me correct that, school sucks. Has anyone noticed that 'studying' is student and dying put together? I did. This is my normal studying.

I called a goodbye to my mum as she dropped me off at my school, West Beach. It sucked. My name sucks. Bethany? What were my parents thinking? I walked down the path and looked up. Yeah, life sucked here, the oval proves it. I could smell fresh grass clippings, like cutting it will make it grow. The path continued along until it reached the buildings. I passed S4, the ship class. I saw my friends laughing. I wish I was in their class. The only word which describes my class, is well, crap.

"Hi!" I greeted my friends.

"Have you read Divergent by Veronica Roth?" Jessica asked. She had gone into another one of her book crazes. Yeah I said book crazes. At the moment, they aren't on top of the popularity list. and never shall be, at least at our school. People normally talk about the latest TV shows, celebrates, songs or fashion. We don't do any of that. Just read, read and yup you guessed it, read. That's why I don't fit in.

"No" I answered Jess's question. Lately I have been reading the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan. I was trying to recommend it to others.

"Have you read Percy Jackson?" I quizzed her.

"I have!" Jade jumped into the conversation.

"Do you remember the bit where Annabeth gets the Invisibility Cap? I had to read the books twice to pick that up". Random fact: When you read a book twice, you normally pick up on more things, including possible grammatical errors.

"What, did she borrow some invisibility magic from Harry?" Jess asked, I think half joking.

"Ah no, sadly. It was a gift from Athena" I said taking the joke seriously. Nicole just arrived as the bell rang.

"Damn, I just wasted precious energy!" she said, trying to catch her breath.

"Oh well" I said. I said teasingly.

"She you at recess!" We all called to each other. Great, back to my crappy class. Nicole and I parted ways to go to our different classrooms. I walked into the door of S2 and dumped my Roxy bag down on my desk. I unpacked my things as I was vaguely listening to Tara and April's conversation.

"Have you listened to the new One Direction album?" Tara asked, deafening my ear.

"Yes!" April squealed with delight. Not my kind of conversation. I ignored them and pulled out my spelling. At this point, everyone was at their desk, quietly talking.

"Ahem" Mr. Sharp said, my teacher. I was nearly taller then him when I stood up. Achievement!

"Well done Bethany. Everyone grab out your spelling and revise for the test" Great, I now looked like I wanted the attention, I wanted the opposite. Note to self: Prepare some comebacks at recess just incase Monique says anything. I glanced down at my words. Recommended, especially, luxurious. These were really easy. Maybe Mr Sharp thought we were toddlers. I'd say good guess considering this crappy class, all except, moi. Soon we will move to our maths groups. I got distracted from my words and started making a mental note on which books I shall read next. Maximum Ride? Maybe. The books that Jess was going on about this morning? Maybe.

"All right class. Switch over to your maths groups" Mr Sharp said. I collected my gear and walked to my maths seat. I'm glad my maths class isn't as bad as my normal class, at least with Jade sitting next to me.

I re-did my golden brown hair into a side ponytail, as I always wear it. I looked up at the rest of the maths groups waiting outside of the classroom door. They were let in and hurried to get the seat beside their friends. Jade was in no rush, not surprised. No one wanted to sit next to me, except her. Neither of us decided that was where we sat, it was just natural for two besties to sit next to other. She dumped her pencil case next to mine. It was pink, not surprised.
