Money and women are the two things that drive a man crazy as hell .Like all men; I too went for the money. But I ended up with the perfect girl that I imagined and she brought all the richness to my life.
It's funny how the life works .All this time I worked really hard to taste a bit of success but never really could achieve it. Once Priya took the charges, she got it all worked out. We men feed on our self respect and dignity, where as women they feed on their feelings.
Life is doing more than okay .Now I am back home to spend some time with my parents. Just like the old days, I thought. There is this small difference though. Now I have this beautiful girl with me in bed, her smooth arms around me clutching me tightly over her chest, to keep me cozy in the winter mornings. The smell of her clean and soft fragrance wanted me to wrap my body around her.
I slowly tried to work my way out of her grasp .I felt a smooth body trying to reach my hand.
'Where are you off to, so early?' Priya asked, grabbing my hand, in a soft low voice.
I didn't reply .I sat next to her in bed. She rested her head on my lap and looked at me.
'So, when are you going to start?' she asked with her irresistibly charming eyes.
'I don't know. You really think I should do it?' I asked doubtfully.
She stroked my hair gently and lowered my head, angling my face over hers until our lips locked. It provided the warmth I was in search of. Then she gently moved to my ears and whispered.
'You will do just fine. I really want you to do this.'
I caressed my fingers over her cheek and said, 'Okay then.' I quickly got off the bed and I was on my way to the balcony.
Priya seemed pretty excited; I thought .The view was perfect from up here. It's been a long time since I last enjoyed this view.
I was thinking about what she said. She wants me to write a story of my own life. At first it felt really awkward. I never really thought I was such a great guy nor I ever did anything for people to take inspiration from. I am just a normal guy born in a middleclass family. I did have rough patches in my life. I just kept on going. Never once did I ever look behind .And now, I am working in the greatest construction company in the world, 'Bechtel'. Yes, I did have a good run. But, still I wasn't convinced yet.
But Priya wasn't ready to let go of it easily. She always had some theory.
'Look, you don't want to be a millionaire to be successful, nor do you have to invent an Apple I phone like Steve jobs or become a monk like Dalai Lama to be great. You know how to make others happy. You know how to change people. That's where your greatness lies.'
When I look back into my life, I see it in different phases. My early school days, high school, college... .To be honest I wasn't such a decent boy as my parents thought I was. I used to fall for girls so often. But never could make it work. I had some crazy bunch of friends. We used to fight for everything be it food, sports, and even girls.
'I don't want you to inspire millions. If you can motivate even a single person, then it is mission accomplished.' This was something Priya always used to tell me. At that moment I decided that I am gonna do it.
I ran downstairs, grabbed my writing pad and I was eager to get it started.
