Chapter 9

Have you ever had those times where you wake up and just for the slightest of moments you forget how you got there? Thats what I went through as I woke up in a room that was not my own, with a man's arms wrapped around my half naked body. The worst part? After the moment passed I still had absolutely no idea how I got there.

Carefully I pull away from under my captures arms and I desperately look around the room for my clothes.

"Where do you think you're going?" I look and it's Mitch, of course it's Mitch.

"Where the hell am I?" I yell as I have the strong urge to throw something but I don't find so much as a lamp lying around this empty room. I half wonder if thats just a coincidence or not.

He rubs his eyes sleepily as if it's far too early for him to be dealing with this. "Will you calm down please?"

"No Mitch I won't 'calm down'" He stands up from the bed and a flood of releaf hits me as I see that unlike me Mitch is wearing all his clothes.

He stands there staring at me as a sly smile crawls up his lips. My face turns a bright red as I dash for the blankets and wrap them around me. "For someone who almost died you seem awfully energetic."

"What are you talking about and for the last time where am I!"

He runs a hand through his blond locks, and sighs. "Look okay, I heard about you being sick and all and how your so called 'love' decided to run back to his little mansion while you suffered through it alone."

"He's the future king, he can't risk getting sick..." the words sound pathetic but how else was I to explain it?

He rolled his eyes, "Ya whatever. So after almost a week of not hearing anything I decide to go check on you." He looks away for a moment, fear flashing in his deep seas of blue. "I found you lying unconscious on the floor of your bed room. Your fever was... it was pretty bad."

My face softens a bit as I begin to see a glimmer of the old Mitch. "Thank you for saving me."

There's an awkward silence before I remember the very crucial fact that I woke up half naked in his arms not even five minutes ago. "Fine but what the h-"

He raises up a hand as his usual self makes it's reappearance. "Well I brought you here of course, I couldn't risk you dying. What would poor little Vaun think?" he sneers. "As for this," he says as he gestures to the bed, "you begged me to stay with you last night. So much for hating me."

I glared at him, pulling the blanket tighter around. "Go to hell Mitch." and he laughs as he walks out of the room mumbling nonsense under his breath.

For two more days it is like I am a prisoner in Mitch's home. The storm has progressed at a frightening rate. So while electric storms ravage the country side I am forced to go along with Mitch's little games.

"Would you like some more tea my love?" Mitch asks as he fills up my cup anyways.

"Can we just stop this nonsense already?" He shakes his head laughing. I close my eyes and try to rub out the headache thats plagued me all afternoon.

"Maybe if you had some blood that would make you feel better" he teased knowing full well that the only blood here were the baby lambs he had stashed away in the barn, safe from the storm.
