~3RD MAY 2017~
I arrived home from school as usual, opening the front door and smelling the well-known scent of my household. I stumbled into the living room and slumped down on the sofa, sweating helplessly. I reached into my school bag and pulled out my planner, flicking through the pages until I get to a specific date. 15th May, Science exam day. I have dreaded this day for ages, I haven't even started revising for it yet and its only the 3rd! I hear the front door open which makes me jump, put away my planner and pull out a random reading book I got from school, A Guide to Algebra by Professor Maroon.
It was my dad who came through the front door, he arrived home from work much earlier than usual. He works as a painter for a decorating company, "Hi Jen, how was school?" he asks me, "Great" I reply sarcastically. I pull out a piece of paper, which contained a portrait of a beach at sunset (it was for my art project). It was in black and white as it was unfinished. I took my bag upstairs to my bedroom, threw it on the floor and logged onto my laptop.
Whilst my laptop was logging itself on, I went downstairs to the kitchen to grab myself a bite to eat. The back door opens to reveal my mum walking in holding a briefcase, "Hi Jenny darling" she greets me with a kiss. I reply back with a 'Hello Mum'.
"Sweetie, could you pop into the living room for a second?" she asks me.
She beckoned me over as I trailed behind her.
I walked into the living room to find a box, it's not just any old box, it's a package, quite a big one actually. I open the box to find, a computer!!
My old computer broke, but at least I managed to save everything onto a Memory Stick. This new computer is beautiful. It's a Silver laptop, it's genuinely beautiful, shiny, it is stunning. I rush upstairs to my room and set it up on my desk.
I spent the rest of the night personalising my computer... setting up the time, date, language, and then I insert my memory stick. Everything appears as it should do, my wallpaper, my name, my search history, my apps, my everything. I'm so happy!
My brother, Frankie, runs into my room looking in my wardrobe. "Where's my football kit?" he asks me.
"Why the heck would I have it? Go look in your own room. No offence." I respond, not trying to be so harsh.
Frankie runs out enlisting the help of Dad to look for his football kit. They turn the house upside down looking for it. They eventually found it in the kitchen, Mum got it ready without the boys knowing. Next thing you know Dad and Frankie have headed out the door and to the car to go to Football practice.
Amelie, my older sister, is in her room on the phone to a friend whilst listening to some 90s music, mostly Destiny's Child. I have about five minutes to kill until I have to make a start on my music homework, so I decided to write in my diary instead.
My diary is PERSONAL! So keep out unless your name is Jenny Ashton.
My diary is a yellow book filled with my thoughts, drawings and diary entries, It's like a best friend towards me. I have so many idols I can't name them all...
Fenella Fielding, Kenneth Williams, Lady Colin Campbell, the list goes on!
I manage to complete my music homework just in time for Carry On Screaming. Me, Amelie and my mum watched it, well, my mum and Amelie did, I was too busy staring at Fenella and Kenneth in the roles of Valeria and Orlando Watt, Fenella is so gorgeous! She is so inspirational!
I go upstairs to find that Amy, my best friend, has sent me a message.
"Bethany has sent me a message saying she wants to meet us both behind school at Lunchtime tomorrow, she wants to give us something. What should I say?!"
Now I am the one to contact about comebacks.
