The Dark Side (A SoRiku Fanfiction)

Reunion

S O R A

     I rushed across the room to embrace my best friend, Riku. Something about him seemed off, but I didn't know what exactly. He looked dead on the outside which made me worry. Before we were separated, he was always headstrong, ambitious, and ready for a challenge. Now, he looked anxious, quiet, and downright scared. He had emerged from a dark orb swirling around the room, I truly wondered where he had been. 

     Once he realized my arms were around him, his tension fell a little. His shivers were frigid as if he was submerged in the arctic without a coat. "Riku, are you alright? You're making me worry," I asked him with a concerned look on my face. "It was dark...so very dark. I couldn't see, but I could feel everything around me," The silverette replied, choking on every word. He continued, practically sobbing,"I was scared. Don't let me go, Sora, please promise me you won't let go!" My words came out with feeling as I replied," I will always hold on to you. I promise with my heart." We dashed our way home: Kairi, Riku, and I.

(I know I didn't really talk about Kairi, but she is here. I just want it to be more focused on SoRiku right now)

     We had returned to Destiny Islands to find everything was the same as we had left it.  Riku looked less tense, seeing his familiar surroundings. I tugged at the older boy's shirt, pointing at the tree house. He gave a sweet, delicate smile as a reply and took my hand to indicate he was following me. 

     We arrived to the tree house, Riku and I, and sat on the hardwood floor. My main plan was to ask him about where he was, if he's alright, and other relative questions to the matter. I truly hope he opens up to me. The goal was to love and comfort Riku, but I doubt he will be willing to speak with me. We managed to get comfy, somehow, and started talking. 

     Riku broke the awkward silence between us with some small chatter on how everyone was and if I was alright. I answered his questions  with a frazzled look  on my face. Riku looked to me with an even more frazzled face than mine was. I didn't know how to begin the conversation between us. I pondered in thought then started to speak.
