Hey. I'm Rowan. You probably don't know me, not many people do. But I was just another one of those girls who minded her own business and did her work and just wanted to leave this dreadful school, but all that changed a year ago. So if you want to know what happened pull up a chair, grab a cup of hot coco and I'll tell you the story of how I got tangled into all of this.

*

It was just a normal Friday, 4th period and I had Geometry and the girl I had a huge crush on wasn't there for the fifth day straight. I leaned over to my right and asked my friend Fiona.

"Psst...PSST....FIONA" I wispier shouted, someone in the back shushed me and I shot them a look.

"What?" She asked not looking up from her work

"Do you know were Cecilia's been?" I asked half-hanging out of my seat

She paused for a moment,"Why should I know? And why do you care?"

I panicked for a second, "Uhh...  well she hasn't been here and... uhh- she's a fellow classmate so shouldn't we been concerned?" I laughed nervously

"Sense when have you cared about other classmates?" She looked at me, "Are you getting soft?"

"Harsh, and NO I am most definitely not, and, or never getting soft." I said defensively

The teacher noticed us, "Rowan, Fiona, pay attention please." she said sternly

"Whatever," Fiona said to me, "Shut up before you get us into trouble again, stop bugging me and do your damn work." as she said this she stared at me, her green eyes cold.

I returned to my work and decided not to dwell on the matter. I began to doodle as the bell rang. I looked down at the doodle and analysed it. It was just a random little cat thing with seven uneven arms. Eh, I've drawn stranger. I walked to my locker and got my lunch. I always brought my lunch. One of my number one rules was: don't trust school lunches. I closed my locker and waited for Fiona. A few moments later she walked up to me and we started walking to the cafeteria.

"What's on the menu today?" She asked me sarcastically

"Pasta salad with a granola bar and goldfish." I answered, "You?"

"I don't know, I think they're probably serving super secret clam chowder again." She said with a face full of disgust

When we got there we sat down at our usual spot in the corner. Fiona pulled out some homework and started to work on it. Knowing Fiona she probably wouldn't want to be disrupted. I sat there with a forkful of pasta salad and rested my head on my hand and stared at an empty table. It struck me then that that was where Cecilia usually sat there reading or doing homework or something, but she was always alone. I supposed it was because she chose to be alone. I guessed this because she could have easily gone over and sat at another table , and read or something. I was woken from my day dream by the snap of Fiona's fingers.

"Helloo-oh" she said as I snapped out of it

"Wha-what?" I asked dazed

"Uhh you where just staring at the wall for five minutes straight," She said anyways lunch is almost over she said

And pretty soon the whole day was over and I was finally at home, totally ready for the weekend.
