Chapter Five:
Nothing But Tragedy
Draco looked at his watch and said, “I have to go. I have something important I have to do. And don’t follow me this time.” He wiped away his tears and replaced his sad expression with his usual one. I couldn’t stand that face he had to put on, it wasn’t the real him. Just as he passed me, I grabbed his face with both of my hands and pulled his lips to mine, immediately feeling the sparks fly with in me. I could tell he was holding back, but he just gave in and wrapped his arms around my waist, bringing me close to him.
He broke away as he let me go and walked pass me to go to the door. Watching as he did, he continued on through the door without a second glaze at me. How could he tell me not to follow him, when that was my every intension? With that thought, I smirked to myself and turned on my heel going after him… well of course silently.
As I followed him, I found that we had traveled to a part of the castle that was all too familiar. This way the way to the Room of Requirement, the place Harry had taught not only a handful of kids, but also myself. I remember when Draco found out that I was amongst them when that retched bitch in pink blew down the wall. That was a bad month, for he wouldn’t even speak to me.
I hide behind a column as I waiting for him to go through so I could jump myself into the room. Before doing it, I waiting to make sure he was near the entrance. Once I was in there I looked quickly around me and made sure Draco didn’t see me, but I did manage to see him back to me as he walked toward something tall and black. Was… is that the vanishing Cabinet? I didn’t know there was another one… the only one I knew of was the one at Borgin and Burkes. I snuck around to see what had fallen in it as I heard a clunk come from inside it. I watched as Draco opened the doors to something small and white in the center of the cabinet. Looking closely, I clasp my hand over my mouth silently, so Draco wouldn’t hear me gasp in shock. But why would he put a beautiful bird in there? That cabinet must be ancient to even be using. My eyes widened as I put the clues together. Draco was fixing the cabinet by using smaller objects to pretty much transport things to the other one back in Borgin and Burkes. But of what use is this going to be to him?
Before he could see me I jump out of there and on to my bed, where luckily no one in the room to see me. Later that night when all the lights were off and everyone was fast asleep, I had a hard time going to sleep as I thought about what has to come for everyone in the wizard world. I knew something bad was going to happen any time. And I couldn’t push aside the felling that it would have a gruesome impact on all of witches and wizard. And I knew it was coming soon, maybe even soon than I can think.
Its Christmas break now and I was helping Mrs. Weasley, Ron, and Ginny with the Christmas dinner as Uncle Arthur, Uncle Remus, Aunt Dora, and Harry sat in the seating room talking about whatever it was. I knew Mrs. Weasley still had to talk to me about what she had saw at the train station, and I knew it was going to be soon. Turning around, I see Fred and George pulling on something and just like that, confetti came out and a spring had jumbled in the middle of the two halves. Ginny soon had left with a tray of cookies to go where Harry was. I just know they are going to be together soon, it was obvious they loved each other. Ron soon followed after with a tray of cookies himself. So it was Mrs. Weasley and I left to cook the rest of dinner.
“I’m not upset with you darling. So you can talk to me now.” Molly said as she knew no one was listening. I look away from the cake and to her as she wore a cheeky smile that showed love. “I should have told you from the start.” I confessed. “Oh Megan, you don’t have to explain it to me nor do you have to worry. You can’t help who you love.” I opened my mouth to protest, but she just put a marshmallow in my mouth and said, “I could see it in your eyes when you look at him. And don’t worry, you secrets safe with me.” She whispered the last part and winked at me as she carried the main course to the table. “Alright everyone, eat up!” Everyone started rushing to the table, well more or less just us kids.
