"We're losing her!"
"Keep her awake, keep her awake!"
"One. Two. Three. Clear!" My chest bounced up like a basketball. I could feel myself getting in and out of conciousness. What happened to me? I feel sharp pains up and down my left side. I look over to my side and see my parents, Megan, and my sister and brother.they are crying their heads off.
"We're gonna lose her!"
"Her heart rate is at 38. 36. 35."
BEEP... BEEP.... BEEEEEEEP!!
But this was only the beginning. After I died, they made me into something new, something everyone would die for.
*TWO HOURS EARLIER*
(CHAPTER ONE: BULLETS)
"Man, I can't wait to go to the war site. It'll be so interesting!" I said to my best friend, Megan.
"I know! It'll be so cool! And everyone knows that it'll be kinda scary. But we all know that you, Violet Salazar, is one of the bravest people of all times! If you were a superhero, you'd be the best!" Megan said. Yes. Now you've learned my name. Violet Salazar.
"Okay students and teachers! Start loading up on the buses! It's time to go to the war site!" Said our teacher, Mr. Torres. He was one of the coolest teachers this school ever had! We began loading on the bus. I couldn't believe we were going to go from Austin, TX all the way to San Antonio to see the Alamo!
"Violet! Sit by me!" Megan says. I sit next to her and get out my phone and earbuds.
"Wanna listen to music with me? My earphones are pretty loud. We can share." I say, handing her one earbud.
"Sure! What songs do you have?" She asks putting the bud in her ear.
"Well, let's just say that you can name any song in the world and I'll probably have it." I reply, telling the ultimate truth. "Any song I hear, even if I don't like it, I put it on my phone." I say.
"Okay. Put on Happy by Pharrel." She says, her eyes lighting up. I scroll down and press it.
"See! I just downloaded this song last night!" I say, trying it talk loud enough so she'll hear me.
"That's when it came out!"
"Exactly!" I say. "I'm going to put on Pompeii. I love that song!" I unlock my phone and put in my password. 0758. I don't know why, but I feel like its a very important number.
"And the walls kept crumbling down in the city that we looooooove." Megan sings. She's a very good singer, but she doesn't think she is.
"How can you not realize you're such a good singer? You should audition for the X-Factor! Or American Idol!" I gasp. "Or The Voice!" I say. She blushes.
"I'm not that good. I'm going to take a nap." She protests (*cough cough* Jimmy *cough). She grabs her pillow and lays it against the window and leans on it. We both fall asleep.
••••••••
"Okay! We are here! Everyone, stay seated. We have to let the instructor know we are here." Says Mr. Torres. I jolt awake. I turn to Megan, who is still asleep.
"Megan! Wake up! We're heeeeree!" I say in a singy songy voice. "Ohhhhhh!" I sing. I sound like a dying cow. "I bet you can't do that any better!" I say, challenging her. Even though I know she can do it better.
"Fine!" She takes a deep breath. "You know what? My throat really hurts. I don't think I can do it right now." She says. She has ultimate stage fright, but she's so great!
