I looked over Mikaela's shoulder to see what team she was on.
"Wild Cards.... Cool team name!" I said in excitement. A tall(maybe six foot) guy saw us and asked what team we were on.
"I'm on Wild Cards," Mikaela said. I smiled at the rather cute male.
"I'm on Fortress!" He smiled back at me and spoke.
"Woah really? I'm on Fortress too!" We all walked out the door and ended up being left behind by John and Hannah. We started up small talk and we got our dinner. Lasagna night just happened to be night one, so we all went straight to tables.
Me and Mikaela sat at the table that John and Hannah sat at with Ashley and who looked to be Chase. I smiled, "Hey Ashley! Hey Chase!" They both said hi and Mikaela sat by Chase, I sat by her and the tall guy sat on the other side of me.
"Oh I didn't introduce myself, I'm Kim!" I said to the male, he smiled.
"I'm Nate," he said and smiled, "The table I normally would sit at is full so I hope you guys don't mind me sitting here?" We all smiled and I told him it was fine. We all bonded over some random stuff, and I finished my food quickly. I practically ran out of the cafeteria. I did run all the way up the path to sports pavilion, though.
There was one person there already, sitting on a bench by the carpet ball table. I approached them slowly now, walking and slightly out of breath.
"Heya!" They turned to me. I realized it was Ben's younger brother, he stood up.
"Did you come here to play carpet ball?" He asked me I smiled.
"Of course! I'm gonna beat you though, Daniel!" I said confidently. We played a couple games before someone else arrived, who was Nate, and I had Daniel three to three. I got a lucky shot in the last round and knocked both pool balls down with one shot.
"Daniel, you just got Danieled!" I said happily as Nate walked up.
"Oh hey Kim, hey Daniel!" He said and grabbed a basketball. He looked at Daniel, "Did you just get beat by a girl?" He asked him, I laughed.
"Yeah, he did. No shame in it though, I could easily beat you as well!" I said, smirking. He tossed the basketball to Danny and stood at the other side of the table.
"I'd like to see it then!" He said and I passed him the ball, making sure it would miss his pool balls. He smiled and rolled it back over, hitting one of mine off. I grabbed it and knocked his off at once, smiling.
"Best outta three, one to zero," I said and he threw the ball back after I reset. It knocked a ball down again and I threw it back, knocking down one of his. He sighed and the game went on a while, eventually it came down to me winning one to two.
"I'd like to see you beat me at basketball!" He said eagerly. My face went blank.
"I don't play basketball...." he sighed and started playing with Danny. I sat down on the bench and watched them, trying to watch the ball. My eyes, though, kept going to Nate.558 words. I legitimately never write this much. So, I would LOVE feedback if possible! Thanks for your time reading this! I love you all! Another thanks to Cleo_Hood for helping me with this book!
