Before I get started with this, yes, I'm a vampire, no I don't kill humans...well, not usually. When I do kill a human, it's on purpose. I'm fairly new to being a vampire. In fact, I only turned four years ago? Take from my own stupidity-never take the short cut through the woods. Though, I guess it's not so bad because my birth parents were homophobic and I and my three best friends are all gay.
I also go to a school full of humans and-oh boy, do they all smell good. I was woken up by Andy calling me. What? You thought all vampires slept during the day? Nope. What about the sun? I just wear a sweater and skinny jeans year 'round.
I answered him, rubbing my hand over my face.
"Whadya want Andy?"
"School starts in five minutes, where are you?"
"It's Saturday-OH SHIT!" I bolted up out of my coffin. "I'll be there in ten, tell our homeroom teacher....I don't know, something." I spastically ran around my room, grabbing clothes.
"You got it Frankie. See ya in class."
"See ya." I hung up and tossed my phone onto the bottom part of the bunk bed Kenny bought for Andy, Dylan, and Casey. All of them are human, all of them know I'm not.I threw on a My Chemical Romance shirt and black skinny jeans, grabbing a sweater and throwing it on. I took my phone and ran down the stairs.
"I don't have time to eat, but can we have fox blood tonight?" I asked, heading towards the door.
"Uh, sure? You gonna eat school food?"
"I guess? I can probably get McDonalds or something with the boys." Did I mention we can eat eat human foods? As long as we eat human food we can go up to two years without blood. Blood feeds us a lot better than human food, though.
"Alright, have fun."
"That hellhole is not fun, in any way." I smiled and leave, running to school.
I sat down between Andy and Casey, leaning back in the chair.
"Sorry, I thought it was finally over for the week."
"I did too, until Dylan threw his ass through my fricking window."
"Oh hush, you love me." Dylan turned to him.
"I do love you." Andy smiled and leaned in to kiss him.
"Get a room, you two." I teased, giggling. The other three laughed as well.
We through the day before lunch and I met all of them at our usual table.
"Don't put your stuff down, we're going out." I stood once I saw them.
"Where are we going?" Casey had taken his backpack off and was now pulling it back over his shoulders.
"Where do you guys want to go?" I asked. The others all looked at each other.
"We should go to McDonalds." Andy said.
"I thought so. You guys want iced coffee from Starbucks too?"
"Hell yeah!" Dylan threw his fist in the air as we all went to our lockers to put our bags away before sneaking out through the double doors in the basement near the tennis courts. We walked to McDonalds and got food, not bothering to get drinks. We went down the street to Starbucks and got our drinks. We went back to the school but hung out in the courtyard.
"Did you guys meet the new kid yet?" Casey asked.
"There's a new kid?" Dylan quirked a brow.
"That's why there's a new scent in my history class.." I muttered.
"Frank-" Andy looked at me.
"What? All humans' blood have different scents and I don't pay attention to whose there. I only know our substitute's scent because she's been there for a week."
"Of course. What exactly does this new kid smell like?"
"Chocolate covered cherries. Whoever it is, they smell amazing."
"Okay then."
"My teachers back today I think and there's a seat next to mine. What if....what if I can't control myself?"
"You haven't done it to any of us." Dylan pointed out. I looked at him.
"You don't know how hard that was for the first few weeks. You guys all smell great too."
"Oh. Well thanks." He smiled. I rolled my eyes with fake annoyance and giggled.
"But seriously, what happens if I...y'know?"
"We'll make sure you don't. We'll get him to hang out with us and you can get used to his sent."
"Alright." I sighed softly, finishing my food and drink as the bell for the next class rang. "I have class with him, wish me luck." We all went off to class.
