SUBJECT: EARTH AND LIFE SCIENCE
LESSON 1: UNIVERSE
• The Universe is at least 13.8 billion years old
• The solar system is at least 4.5-4.6 billions of years old
• Cosmology is the study of the origin, evolution, and fate of the universe
• The universe as we currently know, it comprises all space and time, and all matter and energy in it.STRUCTURE AND COMPOSITION OF THE UNIVERSE:
• It is made up of 4.6% baryonic matter, 24% cold dark matter, and 71.4% dark energy.
• Hydrogen, helium, and lithium are the three most abundant elements.
• Stars are the building blocks of galaxies born out of clouds of gas and dust in galaxies.
• A galaxy is a cluster of billions of stars amd clusters of galaxies from super clusters. In between the clusters is practically an empty space.
• The diameter of the universe is possibly infinite but should be at least 91 billion light years (1 light year is equivalent to 9.4607 x 10¹² km) and its density is 4.5 x 10³¹ g/cm³.(Just sharing my notes. :) Hoping that it would be a big help to everyone. I'll be posting some of my notes especially to the subjects in science or social science since they are my favorite subjects. You can also share yours if you want 😉😊)
