She Can

Chapter 1

  This is one of my first stories I've written. Please don't judge! I know it's terrible. If you have any POSITIVE ideas I'd be glad to hear them! Please enjoy!

    "Outside! Outside!" I scream as the setter, Macey sets the ball.

    Smack! You could hear my hit echo throughout the gym. We're scrimmaging a game at the end of today's practice. The ball slams down right between the two back players. Game point. It's our serve, and my best friend Bella is serving. She is by far the best server on the team. She throws up the volleyball and jerks forward and swings at the ball.

   
           "Game." I hear coach yell after Bella's serve makes it over and hits the floor.
   
   "Alright ladies, we're going to be playing Baylor next week. I want each of you to do your best. Sooners on 3. 1.  2. 3. "Sooners."

    Tonight is Saturday, the night Bella and I go to lift weights at the gym. We push each other as hard as we can go. Where do you think all this muscle comes from?
   
    Riinnngggg. Rinnnggggg.

    "Hello?" "Hey, Blair. I won't be able to make it to workout tonight. Some family stuff came up. I won't be back till the game on Thursday." Bella says. "Ok. I'll see you then. Love ya." "Love ya too." She says and hung up. I guess I'll just go practice my jump serve in the gym instead.

     GDFR is blasting in my ears through my headphones. The ball is pounding against the ground. This is going to be my last serve, and it better count. I watch as the ball goes up into the air. My jump is flawless. I pound the ball. But, my landing... I landed twisted on my left leg. It's twisted in so many different directions. "Ahhhhh!!" I scream out in agony. Whipping out my phone and calling my coach is the first thing I think of.

    "Coach!! I was practicing serving and I landed on my leg! It really hurts. Please come quick. I'm at the practice gym. "Ok hold on Blair. Deep breaths. I'm coming."
