It was a week before prom and out of all the 9 boys that asked me out I have no idea who to choose.

Being the popular is hard sometimes...

I get my salad and walk towards my friends and sit down on the seat that I always sit on. We start talking about random things until Ava starts to burst out about prom.

I look down at my salad as I'm spreading my dressing and getting my fork I notice someone sliding the chair next to me and sitting on it. As I'm still looking down I notice blue jeans instead of a summery dress.

"Um I'm sorry that seat is taken" I say rudely to the person trying to sit in our table without permission.

I don't look at the person's face, but I hear my other friends laughing and whispering.

"Uhh I know but-" the person's voice I don't recognized filled my ears.

"If you know then why did you have the nerve to sit here?" I question interrupting the person still not looking up.

"I just wanted to know-" He began to say

"When you can go cause that's my question as well" I say interrupting once more this time looking up.

He gets up from his seat and walks away. "Finally" I say to myself.

"Oh my Gladys!" Ava says. I eat more salad and look at her I raise an eyebrow instead of talking with my mouth full making my face express as if I were to say "What?"

"You're so brave I swear! That's why I love you" she says with a grin on her face.

"Brave? Why do you see that as brave?" I question as I swallow my food.

"You stood up for Becky so that dude won't sit here" she says and made a nasty face when she said dude.

"Anything for my friends" I say with a smile on my face. I start to eat my salad once again, but I get interrupted as someone taps on my shoulder.

I roll my eyes because people aren't letting me eat in peace. I turn around with a smile on my face to see a girl I've never seen in my life.

"May I help you?" i ask politely .

"I'm sorry to disturb you, Gladys but" she says then gets something from her backpack I squint my eyes not knowing what's going on right now.

First a random boy now this girl? Like it's not 'anybody can talk to Gladys day'

"Someone told me to give this to you" she says with a grin on her face. I keep my fake smile as I grab the envelope.

"Thank you" I say as I turn around and pretend I'm about to open it.As I feel her leaving I throw the envelope and continue eating my salad because I am hungry.

"What is it, Gladys?" Ava asks.

"I don't know I don't want to open it... why don't you open it for me?" I question.

"okay" she says bubbly. She starts to reach for it which is in the middle of the round table.

"oww" she says smirking at me as she starts to read the letter inside of the envelope. "I think you should read this yourself" she tells me as she passes it to me.

"ugh fine!" I say in frustration and grab it out of her hands rudely. I start to unfold the letter and start to read and it says,

' You didn't let me talk, but it's okay I did interrupt you in your personal time, but I just wanted to tell you was I really want to ask you to prom! I know you may not want to but may you give me a chance? At least I can tell people I actually that the balls to do it. When you're done eating may you please meet me in the main hall? If I don't see you then I know for sure it's a no... but hey at least I'm trying '

As I finish reading it I look towards the main hall.

What does this nerd think he's talking to?

He actually thinks I'm going to go with him? I stand up and fix my floral dress.

"Where are you going?" Ava asks.

"None of your business" I say as I'm walking towards the main hall.

I actually want to see the look on his face when I tell him no. I turn the corner to find him and I see him talking to his other friends probably about a test they passed and others failed it.

His friends notify him that I'm coming so he turns around and as he sees my face a smile forms on his face.

"Okay the answer is easy it's a-" I say as I reach him

"Hold that thought!" he interrupted me and walked away.

I widen my eyes then quint them very quickly how dare he just leave me alone with these people I shouldn't have even came.

As I was about to walk back his friends told me to stay I fake smile and wait. I cross my arms across my chest as time flies. He comes back and has a smile on his face.

"Come with me please" he tells me and I nod my head and walk with him to I don't know where.

"Okay Gladys, it's been years that I always wanted to do this" He says as he opens a door which lead outside and there's balloons, roses, and a big poster in front of me saying 'prom?'

"Gladys sorry if I make you uncomfortable but would you like to go to prom with me?" he says happily.

I start to smile and not a fake one this time.

This is actually cute the other 9 boys just asked me through the phone, but I have to give him props because he did have the balls not like the other guys.

"and if I say yes?" I question.

"then we'll go to prom together, silly, but I promise you I won't let you down!" he pleases me.

I look at him and nod my head he smiles widely and gives me a hug i return it and we're hugging in front of the school

"I'll not let you down" he whispers in my ear. We let go of the hug and i ask him what's his name

"Oh sorry I didn't introduced myself I'm Grayson" he says.

"Okay well Grayson I got to go back into the cafeteria, but here's my number so you can call me when you're about to pick me up." I say as I hand him the letter he wrote but I wrote my number and address in the bottom of it.

"oh yes! You go ahead" he smiles.

I walk back to the cafeteria and I have no idea what just happened...
