My breath comes out fast and hard as I try to run through the unlit streets. I don't know where I am going or how far I need to go or even what will happen if I don't. All I know is an animal instinct in my gut telling me this guy is bad news.

I am pushing myself to my physical limits, and I can feel my strength slipping from me.

As I turn around to try and catch sight of the man, I trip over a curb and my face and jaw slam into the concrete.

A shadow spreads over my body, but I can't get up. My head is screaming for me to get up, stand up, move, run, GO. My heart is pounding, trying to restart my body, but I just can't.

"Aww," he says with fake sadness. "Did you fall down sweetheart?" he has an accent, and it is thick. But what really draws my attention is the fact that he barely sounds winded.

"C'mere. I'll take you somewhere we can fix your wounds," he breathes into my ear, through my long brown hair.

He bends down and scoops me up in his arms, and I manage to determine a strong, defined jaw and dark, black hair.

'How strong is he?' I wonder as he carries my limp body all the way I ran, which turns out to be a good ten minute walk.

My voice is very quiet as I summon enough air to say, "Why can't I move yet?"

" You are a very fast girl, Cerulean, " he whispers into my hair again. His accent is from the UK and is very, very thick, not just my confused, tired brain hallucinating. "But I think you pushed yourself a bit too far back there. Why did you run? Don't you trust me?"

Mock echoes through his voice. He turns a corner I didn't and there is a sleek, black car parked with no lights on in a shadow from a building.

When he gets about twenty yards from the car the passenger side door opens, and a blond boy pops out.

His blue eyes are rock hard which even though I don't know him, his face is the kind that should smile. This serious look is unnatural and doesn't belong on him.

"You got her?" the blond asks unlatching the back door.

"Yeah, I got her," my captor says as he slides into the car with me. I am trapped in his arms, immobilized until my body can recover.

The door shuts behind him.
