THORA
SCRATCH THEM OUT. SCRATCH THEM OUT. SCRATCH THEM OUT.
The voices screamed as I saw my reflection in the mirror. It showed me the same old haunting eyes staring right at me.
My own eyes.
Scratch. Scratch. Scratch. SCRATCH SCRATCH THEM OUT OUT OUT
The voices kept getting louder and louder as I continued to stare at my eyes in the mirror.
They are the most disgusting things I have ever come across. Everyone else can simply see grey eyes like the clouds on a gloomy day. They are so fascinated by these eyes, but for me, they are just a reminder of bad things.
"They aren't that ugly as you say." I heard a faint whisper from my door and instantly turned around, hiding my hands which were just about to lose it's control to my mind.
"Who is it?" I asked, when I didn't see anyone standing at the door. The door was open, even though I clearly remember closing it.
"Who is it?" I repeated my question, which was once again followed by utter silence. So I let it be, I believed it to be a part of my imagination too.
*bang*
"Who is it?!" I repeated my question, alarmed by the loud sound. It felt like some one fell heavily right outside my door.
Hesitantly, I moved towards the door. I turned the handle, and opened the door only to find and empty hallway.
"Who is it?!' I once again repeated my question, unable to keep my fear hidden.
"Who are you talking to?" I heard my mother coming into my room followed her maids. My mother is Hera, Queen of the Gods. Sometimes I am jealous of how happy and confident my mother is. No matter what happens, she is always standing up for herself and never lets anyone do her dirty.
"Thora, You aren't ready yet?" She looked at me with disappointment. "The party is in two hours and you are still in your sleepwear."
She handed me a heavy gown which I believe I have to wear for tonight's function."Why do I have to go to the party? It's not even the actual wedding." I groaned in annoyance as I started to change it the gown she handed over.
It is a white silk evening dress with lace details on the sleeves and the neckline. "It's Poseidon's son's engagement party. Even though he is a mere demigod born out of infidelity, he is Poseidon's son and we have to attend it." Mother started to decorate my hair with white roses to match the dress and that was my only accessorise.
"Can you stop treating them as if they are low lives?" I asked her with desperation. Most of my family is involved in some kind of affair with humans or nymphs and the result is people like Percy Jackson. I do not see them any different from us, but my mother absolutely hates all the demigods.
"No, I won't. I don't even know why we have to consider these demigods a part of our people. They are just a constant reminder of how our family men treats their wives." She huffed out in anger and tried to apply makeup on my face which I do not like.
"Okay fine. I would go just because its Percy and Anna's engagement party. Otherwise I would just lay on my bed and sleep all day." I rushed out of the room before mother can stop me or say anything about my responsibilities and all that shit.
