Prologue Part I-Third Person POV
She lay on the floor, half-conscious, her eyes blurred, crossed and everything in between. The girl had long hair, light blond with lowlights.
The warehouse floor was cold. Deathly cold, in fact. Her nose was rosy and her hands shook. She couldn't see straight. Literally: she could see one thing in her left eye, and something else in her right.
She blinked a few times, gaining consciousness, until her vision cleared. Her phone came into view, about a yard away from her elbow, which was bent rather unnaturally towards her.
She gathered her strength and straightened her arm until the tip of her index finger tapped the corner of her phone. She gasped and cried out with pain, though no one could hear her. Her arm was definitely broken, if not dislocated. She grabbed at it with her other fingers and found that it took tremendous effort. When at last she thought the blood would no longer run through her now purple fingers, her fingers locked around her phone and, with a quiet cry, she dragged a phone a good foot closer to her. She turned it on and tapped the Emergency shortcut.
"Help," was her last intelligible squeak as she went unconscious.--------------------------------------------
Prologue Part II-Diary Entry-Skylar's POV
For the last few months, I've felt as though someone's been following me. A man, tall. I've caught him staring at me: at the bus stop, the metro, outside school, and a few other places, and he's always across the street.
It scares me.
I may not write for a while, because I've told my dad and he says we are going to leave for a vacation to Florida tomorrow. Goodbye for a few months, Diary.
