I looked around the smoking infested room trying to find any sign that Polly was around. The music was blarring and my head was starting to hurt. Goddamn it, Polly! I shove my way through the enormus crowds. Who knew a bar could be so crowded? More like a club if you ask me. The lights were so dim I could barley see infront of me. While shuffling my way across the darkened room, I bumped into something. Or someone, I should say.
"Whoa, slow down speed racer. Where you trying to get to in that much of a hurry?" The woman questioned. She stood tall and proud, as if she owned the place. Her eyes were hidden behind a pair of black rimmed glasses and her face was frammed by black, silky hair.
"I'm just looking for my friend. Have you seen her? Brown hair, kinda short, a noes that points up?" I smooshed my own noes in an attemp to be funny. The woman laughed and shook her head.
"Can't say I have, but there's still hope right? Hey why don't I buy you a drink and you can tell me more about your friend, Piggy." I giggled.
"Polly, her name is Polly." I swept my eyes around the room. Not being able to spot that brunette, I accepted the invitation to a free drink.
"Coke and Rum, please," I asked as we sat at the worn down bar.
"I'll have a shot of Vodka." She told the bartender. "So, what's your name, Vodka?" She peered at me over the edge of her glasses.
"Alex Vause. What about you, Rummy?"
"Piper, Piper Chapman." She laughed at the sound of my last name.
"What?" I whined. She stopped laughing and set her hand on my thigh. My skin felt electric under her touch. I brough my face closer to hers as she answered, "It's just, Chapman sounds like Chapstick," she moved her face forward, our lips almost touching. As soon as she went in to close the gap, someone interupted us, "Pipes, you ha- Oh, Hello." Polly eyed Alex and turned to me.
"Pipes, there's a cute dude over asking about you, saying how cute you were," she stated ignoring Alex entirely.
"Polly, tell him to-," I was cut off by Alex, "I should get going," she slammed a 10$ bill on the table and walked away. I stared at Polly.
"Thanks, Polls. You have perfect timing," I said sarcastically as I jumped off the stool and ran after Alex.
I skidded on the gravel outside falling to my knees. My eyes searched for her, anything at all.
Nothing. She was gone.
I trudged back inside to find Polly and go home. I spotted her talking to some guy with curly brown hair.
"Oh! Pipes! This is Larry. Larry this is my best friend, Piper." We shook hands and then I grabbed hers.
"Nice meeting you Larry, but we have to go." I dragged Polly out to the car and started to fume.
"How could you do that to me! You acted like she wasn't even there!" I shouted.
"Piper, you don't even like girls!" She shot back.
"How do you know? We could have been Soulmates!" I started to tear up.
"Piper! Do you hear yourself? You don't meet your fucking Soulmate in a grungy bar!"
