Today's my first day in school, and to be honest I am really excited.
So being it as my first day, I decided to wear my white Tanoa T-shirt, with black leggings, also with my black converse. And being the lazy me, I put my dark brown hair in a pony tail. Feeling satisfied, I grabbed my school bag, and phone and headed down stairs. To see my parents and Tamri eating breakfast.
"Talofa mom!, talofa dad!" (Morning mom!,morning dad!)
I said, kissing them both on the cheek before sitting next to Tamri on the stool.
"Morning sweety" they both said before carrying back to their conversation.
Typical
Munching on a granola bar, I looked over at Tamri to see her wearing something similar to mine, except she was wearing ripped jeans with a shirt saying SAMOAN on it.
"Like it?" Tamri asked, probably guessing that I was thinking of what she was wearing.
"Love it"
"Come on girls! Am going to be late for my first day at work" my dad said, as he stood up from his seat and grabbed his suitcase. Jumping of the stool, me and Tamri made our way out the door not before kissing our mom on the cheek.
"Fa mom!" ( Bye mom! ) waving at her before closing the door of the car. Giving us a wave back and a blow kiss to my dad, she made her way back into the house.
I however, leaned back into the car seat and enjoyed the ride.
10 minutes later
"Welcome to Eastern High girls!" My dad announced as he parked the car. I looked out the window, and beheld a huge looking building that was known to be my new school.
Well damn.
I got out of the car, and brushed down my clothes. "Magakua, ou ke sau piki ou lua pe a ku'ua le aoga, faakali mai i ua ei iloa?" ( Remember, I will be coming to pick you guys up after school, just wait here alright?) My Dad said before staring the car again.
Nodding our heads, we waved him good bye as he drove off.
Yeah, I Know your probably thinking why we still get dropped and picked off from school, even though we're in High School, but let me tell you this. Unlike other kids who's parents buy their fancy car when they turn 16 and let them drive it to school, my parents prefer dropping us off, they think it's more like their responsibility to do it, and me and Tamri are okay with it, its not like we're embarrassed to be seen being dropped off by our own parents.
Nearly making our way to the entrance of the school building, Tamri's hand gripped my arm making me hault. "What's wrong?" I asked, facing her.
She looked at me, then at the double doors, then at me, then again at the double doors repeating the same process before sighing.
"I....just...am...scared" she trailed off lowering her head. "What if they dont like us? or better yet, like....me?" she adding before staring at me.
My eyes soften towards my sister, as I made my way towards her and hugged her "Don't worry Tamri, everything's going to be alright, and hey, who wouldn't like you? your pretty, smart, and very funny if you ask me, don't care what other people think about you alright? and if I ever hear any dirty crap being said around here, I'll find that person and kick them all the way to Samoa" I said, giving her an assure smile
"And this is why I love you" she mumbled. "So?...let's go?" I asked
Huffing, she nodded her head "sure"We opened the double doors, to come face to face with a host of students, but minding our own business, and gulping, we proceeded to walk ignoring the stares and whispers.
