"OBJECTION!"

Just as I was about to adjourn the meeting, Murakata shouted while pointing at me like Ryuichi Naruhodo from the Turnabout Trial series. "Why are you ending the meeting already? We haven't done anything yet."

"That's true." I said as I sat back down. I could see Akiko trying her best not to laugh at me as I looked across the table. Murakata walked over to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Any ideas for a club activity, Nishimura-senpai?"

I have a feeling that this girl is trying to embarrass me and take the place of vice-president because she thinks I'm not fit for the role. Not that I'm saying I am fit for the job, but she's obviously thinking that. I guess. Maybe I should give myself the benefit of the doubt and say she likes me. I am obviously over thinking this too much.

"Uh, what about a showcase of our favorite books?" I said, standing up to look at Murakata. She smiled at me and brought out a book entitled Homoge Club: The Novelization. I immediately took back what I said after seeing the picture of a scrawny and short blue-haired boy hugging and pecking the cheek of a taller and more muscular redhead male. "Okay void my idea. Anybody who have different ideas that don't involve me seeing Murakata's yaoi?!"

"What? You don't like seeing Ion kissing Conn on the cheek?" Murakata said as she pointed at the blue-haired boy. "There's a reason why the game is titled ConnXIon-" I pushed the book away from my line of sight and put my hand on Murakata's shoulder. "Let's not delve into this more than we already have, okay?" Murakata grinned and nodded.

I looked around the room and saw Shimada bending over to get something from what looked like a drawer. "Hey, there's a water boiler and instant coffee in this cupboard." He said, holding up the boiler. "Coffee doesn't sound like a bad idea." Akiko said to Shimada. Wait, is it gay for me to think of Shimada wearing maid clothing and serving coffee? Because if it wasn't, I would definitely want that to happen.

"Drinking coffee while reading is always a good idea." Murakata added with a grin.

"Why do I feel like we're just searching for interesting things in the clubroom?" I muttered. Akiko stood up from her seat and hit my arm. "That's exactly what we're doing, idiot!" Holy fuck this girl hits hard.

"Too bad we don't have any water for coffee." Shimada sighed as he put the boiler back into the cupboard. "YOU GOT MY HOPES UP!" Murakata shouted in despair. I laughed at her reaction and earning me a glare from the swimmer.

"I'm sorry." I said while laughing. She sighed as she walked to the bookshelves. "We have a lot of books, why not make use of that?" She looked at me smugly. I looked at the books and got this feeling that I don't want to read any of these because I might get immersed. Akiko, who had been looking at the bookshelf for quite some time now, suddenly threw a book towards my face.

The book's spine hit me on the forehead and gave me enough of a shock to make me lose balance and tumble down to the table. "What the hell?!" I shouted in surprise. Murakata was laughing at my reaction, just like my laugh earlier. I glared at her and then at Akiko. "I'm starting to think you're taking the whole treat Kenji like shit act to a whole new level."

"Nishimura-san, you wrote this?" Asked Shimada, who had picked the book up and was looking at the front cover. I stood up and grabbed the book. "What do you mean I wro-"

On an almost blank cover, handwritten in Kanji was my name, Kenji Nishimura, and in larger Katakana, Rewriting the Future!. I quickly dropped the book and sat back down on my chair. "How did that get there?" I asked myself repeatedly.
