I was finally leaving! My heart leaped with joy as I grabbed my boarding pass and my ticket, ready to board the plane. I live in Sydney, Australia. I wanted to start a new life in America, forgetting about my past here in Australia, all of the people I didn't want to remember. It was time for a new me. I can see it all now! I'd move into an apartment somewhere in New York and if I wasn't happy, I could always move around. Maybe stay at Motels? Finally find a job that I like? Working as a waitress here in Sydney isn't exactly my idea of fun.

I handed the flight attendant my ticket as I boarded, watching her rip off a little piece at the bottom and handing it back to me. "Enjoy your flight, Miss."  She flashed a smile towards my direction, moving onto the next person behind me. I hoped that my seat wasn't next to someone fussy or annoying. Locating my seat at last, I hastily shoved my hand baggage into the compartment above. I glanced to see a classy, posh looking woman sitting in the seat next to the window. She wore bright red lipstick, and if you ask me, way too much make up. She almost looked like a clown. All she needed was a pair of brightly coloured boots and a red nose, and she would've been signed up for the circus immediately. Smirking to myself, I took my seat in the middle, and began to buckle my seat belt. A mop of curly, dark-dirty blonde hair plopped down into the seat next to me, flashing me a lopsided grin, while his ocean blue eyes studied me. He was handsome, I'll give him that. I smiled back, soon returning to fiddling with my fingers on my lap and day dreaming about how life would be in the U.S.

"Are you scared of plane rides?" Snapping my head towards him, I blushed as he kindly smiled at me again. "No, not at all. In fact, I love them." I wasn't even being sarcastic."You're fiddling with your fingers," His blue eyes darted towards my hands placed in my lap, and back into my eyes. "Nervousness... I'm contemplating about how life will be in America. Thinking about all of the things that need to be done, you know the usual." "Oh - You're moving there!" He exclaimed, nodding his head in understanding. "Well, so am I." He grinned again - Darn that stupid grin of his, it was lovely!

"Please fasten your seat belts and turn off all electronic devices, we will be taking off shortly."  A voice spoke through the speaker, diverting my attention from the man next to me to make sure that my seat belt had been fastened properly. I didn't like the feeling that was brewing in the very pit of my stomach. Feeling the bile start to rise in my throat, I suddenly felt nauseous. What the hell? My instincts were telling me that something was terribly wrong, it just didn't feel right, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Starting to shake a little, I felt tense and sick. I really wasn't afraid of plane rides, but when my instincts kick in, I can't shake them off until I'm reassured and comforted. Leaning forward, I told myself that everything was going to be Ok, and that it was just the anxiousness from moving to a different country. Starting a new life. Having a new place, all to myself. Wow... A hand found it's way onto my back, beginning to rub circles and comforting me. "It's alright sweet heart... It's Ok. There, there..." Leaning back onto my seat and resting my head, I smiled as I desperately tried to relax.

Fluttering my eyes open after about two minutes or so, I watched a man walking down the aisle, talking to a flight attendant on the way. His face was pale, eyes were sunk back into his head, accompanied by tired-looking bags under them. He looked like he hadn't slept in days - Scratch that - A few weeks. His face resembled that of a ghost. Making his way down to the aisle behind us, and sitting down, I thought nothing of it and began to look outside of the window.
