"Are you positive, Luna?" A deep, soft voice whispered in the dark, cautiously peering upon a young man, about eleven years of age, fast asleep in his bed. "Are you sure he is the one? If not, all will be lost. Don't you understand that?" The voice huffed, annoyed at some invisible person in the room.
"Yes! I do understand that! Thanks for reminding me." A high pitched violet haired girl whispered from the corner of the room as she stepped out into the silver moonlight. As the bright luminescence rained on her marble-like skin, she looked like a greek goddess. She was pretty small and petite with her hair shaved on one side and the other half styled in long waves. "He's the one Sol, and if you don't believe me, brother, you can just check the Viewer later because he shares our dreams! Or look in his journal, he has drawings of them there." The girl snapped, her voice growing in volume, making the young boy stir in his sleep. Suddenly, as if experiencing a seizure, his weight shifted, and shakes erupted from his body, white knuckles clinching the blanket around him.
"Alright - Alright!" The boy called 'Sol' huffed from his hiding place in the closet; ignoring the tormented child. Sol was about twenty years old, tall, lanky and had spiked, jet black hair that curled around his ears. His eyes were like the sea just before a storm; dangerous but beautiful all at the same time. They were protected behind wellington eyeglasses. The moonlight glinting through the window revealed a scar on his sun-kissed face, stretching from his nose down to his mouth. "Just, stay quiet for a moment. Let me think, and don't wake him yet!" Sol said hesitantly, trying to make every word pierce into the girls mind, but to no avail.
Just as he reached for the journal, with one fast movement, Luna appeared at the young man's side, sitting on the bed. "It's okay, It's okay. You will join us soon, young dreamer." the careless sixteen year old girl whispered, stretching forth her hand and brushing away the dark brown hair from the sleeping face. "It's okay, I know it is scary for you right now. Trust me, you are safe now. We are watching you, I won't let anyone hurt you anymore. You'll be okay." Luna sung as she stroked his hair. In response, the boy smiled and shifted his now calm body back to it's original position, a small sigh escaping his lips, a bit too loud.
"LUNA!" Sol barked, his hair turning from ebony to a bright shade of scarlet like fire had emerged on top his scalp. After sitting down the book, he walked over and took Luna by the hand, his red hair turning slowly back to its ominous shade of black. "We need go back to Head Quarters. Sandy wants to meet with us again first before anything happens." Sol then turned his watch outward, facing the closet door at the head of the bed and hit a button. A bright blue light erupted from the face and projected a large door onto the wall and Sol gripped her hand tighter, like shackles on a prisoner. As the sapphire light faded from view, the door remained, concreting itself in place. As this happened, a groan escaped from the sleeping boy's mouth as violent shivers wracked his body again, his mind tormenting him with horror and frightfulness. Sweat beads formed on his forehead as his face drained of color. The girl's eyes filled with tears as she tugged from her brother, "Sol Help him!" She called as her brother shook his head and dragged her toward the door.
"He's having a nightmare!" An exasperated Luna cried, pulling from her brother's grip. Understanding now, Sol nodded and let go of Luna, reaching into his pocket. "Okay,
he whispered, "I understand now. I'll help him. Can you see it? I can't yet, he's too lost in it." He asked as he fumbled in his pocket momentarily and pulled out a violet, satin pouch with a large golden sun etched on the front. "Yes," her voice flitted as she shut her eyes, touching the child's head, "Fire, lots of fire. Screaming. Someone is hurting. No Obscures yet. This terrible Sol, help him! "As she shouted, he reached in his hand in the bag and pulled it out again, his fingers clenched in a tight fist. Sticking the pouch back in his pocket, he walked around to the side of the bed ,and leaned to the sleeper's ear. Taking a deep breath, Sol slowly blew onto his palm, releasing a green dust into the air. It glittered and floated until it landed softly on the restless form. As it sunk onto the shaking body, the dreamer's shivers slowed to a stop until he was totally still once more. "What do you see now?" Sol whispered as he turned away from the still body, smiling."I see, light. That is it. Just a bright white light." Luna sighed just Sol touched him on the shoulder and a light flashed around the room like lightning in the middle of the storm. On his shoulder was a magnificent tribal-like tattoo of the sun and the moon combined curving down his arm. The new markings shown brightly in the moonlight, a sign of hope to the siblings. Abruptly, Sol flinched from the body as if it way explode, turning to his sister shock wearing on his face like a mask.
"You're right, Luna. He must be the one. That sleeping powder should hold him over until we reach Sandy and the Viewer, okay? Then we can keep an eye on him from there. I need to see those dreams in person." Sol smiled at his little sister, secretly proud of her good works tonight. He reached over to her and rubbed his thumb on her shoulder where it shown a beautiful tribal tattoo of a moon. He reached up and brushed back his black hair, revealing a matching tattoo of a sun on his neck. Smiling he knew they would always have a connection to this young boy now. "Come on, Kid." Sol whispered putting his arm around his best friend, "Let's go home and leave him in peace whilst he can still have it." He nodded toward the tired body, fast asleep in the bed; the slow breathing the only other sound in the room. "Goodbye Ero." Sol whispered as he nodded to the resting body nearby placing his hand on the bed frame, "For your sake, I hope this is goodbye for good. For our sake, I hope we will see you again soon, we'll need you." He saluted the sleeping teenager and wrenched the metal door open, Luna blowing a kiss as her sibling turned away.
With that, they turned on their heels and walked through the enormous door letting it close quietly behind them. A new, silver necklace of a sun and a moon shimmered on the dreamer's neck as slowly, the obscure door vanished into thin air.
