Ricky was sitting on the couch before the phone rang and Lucy answered it
"No! Really! Your joking! He did? He didn't!"
Ricky rolled his eyes "My guess is he did!" he said out loud
Lucy rolled her eyes and hung up the phone "You will never guess what!"
"Your getting shipped off to Mexico?" Ricky said sarcastically
Lucy laughed and then gave Ricky a stern and serious look "No! You have got a deal in Hollywood!"
Ricky got up and started yelling some words in Spanish when he calmed down he looked over at Lucy "Lucy!" he said calmly "Do you mind repeating that?"
Lucy got closer to Ricky's ear and yelled "You have got a deal with a studio in Hollywood!" Lucy said one last time
"Not with MGM again?" Ricky asked concerned
"No something called Dreamworks that want you to play an animated character!" Lucy said looking at one of her cracked nails and biting on it to make it even with the others
"I won't go!" Ricky said with his Cuban accent
Lucy's mouth fell opened "What do you mean you won't go? Ricky this is your big break since 1961!"
Ricky shook his head "No"
"Ricky"
"I said no Lucy! N-O spells no!"
"You don't have to give me a spelling lesson!" Lucy whined
"Yes i do its the only thing i can do to get a word threw your thick skull!"
Ricky stormed out of the room and slammed the bedroom door
Lucy quietly tiptoed over to the phone to call her long time friend Caroline Appleby the phone rang four times before she answered the phone.
"Hello Caroline" Lucy said threw the phone
"Yes this is she! Who is this?" she asked
"This is Lucy! You will never guess where we are going this summer!"
"Where?" Caroline asked in suspense
"Hollywood!"
"Oh that is wonderful"
"Yes Ricky got a deal with the Dreamworks company and they are just desperate to meet him so Ricky is taking me and Ella up to California in about a month! We are thinking the end of May!" Lucy said bragging to Caroline
"And Ricky agreed? After all he gave up show business not to long after Fred died!"
"Well Caroline darling he has not really agreed to go yet but you know me and how i work!"
Caroline laughed "Knowing you for all of these years i sure do!"
Lucy hung up the phone and called another one of her long time friends this time it was Lucy's turn to brag to Marion Strong!
