After Lele and Juanpa had finished their meal, they quickly wrapped up and left the restaurant in hopes to never see the old lady ever again.

"Are you still hungry? I payed a good price for you, you know," Juanpa joked.

"No, my hunger is satisfied. That was an interesting meal, thank you," laughed Lele.

As she spoke, he smiled, showing the joy in his face, and they went off to walk down the streets of Los Angeles. The time was passing by as the speed of a horse, and the sun went down as it was nearly 11 in the evening.

"Wow, it's already 10:53! How is that possible? Time certainly does pass by quickly when you're having fun," Juanpa mumbled to himself.

"It sure does..." She looked at him and smiled, and kept walking.

As the two kept quiet and wandered the streets, clumsily bumping into each other's sides, lights were being turned off and stores were being closed. Birds stopped chirping, and crickets were heard. It was a peaceful, breezy night in Los Angeles, and it was time to hit the hay, for another day.

There was a sudden group of young men walking around, looking as if they owned the city. They wore bandannas on their heads and had their pants pulled all the way down to their ankles. Wearing strange looks on their faces, they passed by Lele and Juanpa, obnoxiously coughing and smoking their cigarettes into their faces. Worried, Juanpa quickly pulled Lele to his side as they walked by. "Be careful Lele, they look dangerous."

Not saying a word, she continued walking.

Suspiciously, as the two got closer and closer, the group of young men slowly stopped walking. In less than a second, one of the gang members grabbed ahold of Lele's purse and took it on the run. "My bag!" screamed Lele. Without hesitating, Juanpa jolted towards the running gang, not stopping for a single thing. Only watching in fear, Lele stood, shocked, completely speechless after what she had just experienced.

Moving into the corner of the street, the group turned. As Juanpa followed and did the same, all he saw was nothing, as the group of gang members was completely gone. Not a single trace was left of them; he was too late. Disappointed, he went back to Lele and without even saying a word, he stood in front of her, and put his arms around her. "I'm sorry. I tried," he gently whispered into her ear.

Coming back from the police station to report of the incident, they reached her apartment. Still quiet, Lele spoke, "Thank you for trying, Juanpa. There was nothing that you could do. It was my fault for being so irresponsible."

"Irresponsible? It's not your fault, Lele. They're the jerks who stole your purse! They're the ones who did injustice! So don't tell yourself that," he said, grudgingly.

Lele said nothing.

Feeling bad about what he told her, "Look, the first thing we'll do is check in with the police and ask if there's been any reports on any stolen items. And I'm sorry for acting rough, I'm just concerned."

"I know," she said, putting her hand on his rosy-colored cheek. "We'll do that."

To be continued in Part II...

A/N

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long wait ~ school is finally over and I am planning on uploading more often (Yay!)

I hope you're satisfied with this slightly longer chapter that I wrote. I tried to make things a little more interesting by adding a little suspense, other than entirely focusing on Lele and Juanpa's relationship. I also hope this can make up for the long wait that I put on you guys :/

Anyhow, this chapter has two parts so I'll be uploading the second part very shortly, so please stick around!

Again, thank you for all your support! :)
