June 13, 2017 Tuesday, my teacher in English 8, Ms. Angelique B. Castillo, taught us how to use Graphic organizers. She said that Graphic organizers are important because we can use it in reporting. It uses symbols to express knowledge, concepts, thoughts, or ideas. She said that there are a lot of types of graphic organizers but she only gave three examples.

First is concept map. A concept map help students like us to represent knowledge of a subject. How to use it? Simply write the main idea at the center and then branch out to show how the main idea can be broken down into specific topics.

June 14,2017 Wednesday, we had a reading comprehension. It was all about the Janitor fish, also known as "suckermouth" fish or "plentos". Janitor fish is considered as pest because it bore holes in Marikina river causing turbidity and erosion. Mr. Raymond Joseph S. Amurao, a student at Marikina Science High School, used the Janitor fish oil to make soap and biofuel. After the discussion, we had a quiz or an activity but we weren't able to finish it on time so she said that we'll just check it tomorrow.

June 15 2017 Thursday, we checked the quiz or activity regarding Janitor fishes and after that, Ma'am Angel told us that every Friday is our Journalism day. It is not time yet and we have 30 minutes left so Ma'am Angel introduced us to the basics of Journalism. Journalism is from the its root word journal that is derived from the Latin word "diurna" that means "daily". She also taught us about the 3 types of publications, namely written, visual and oral publication.

June 16 2017, Friday, we had a quiz regarding the basics of journalism and after that, our discussion was all about Campus publication. She discussed about the functions and parts of the Campus publication. The functions are to entertain, give infomation, documentation and opinions. The parts of a Campus publication are the front page, editorial page, feature page, and sports page.
