Chapter 10. School

I walked down the hallways of Clearing Middle. 7th grade Still. My mom found out about Jordan. Kelly hates me. Kaylen is now 3. Lacey still bothers me, just not as bad. Paige,  laceys best friend, moved to a new school because of her horrible grades. And now I'm here. Alone. For now.

As I walked down the crowded hallway I saw a girl walking around. She doesn't look very familiar. I knew right away,  she's new.

"Hey!  I'm jamie! " I said when I walked up to her. "Hey. I'm Bella. Bella Smith. I'm new, if it's not obvious. " Bella said. I laughed pretty hard. I knew right then She is my new friend. "So. What are your classes? " I asked. Bella handed me her long schedule and I read.

Home room:  Fernandez

Tribe time: Smith

1St:math

2Nd: science

3Rd: computers

4Th: PE

5th: Reading And Writing

6Th: Social studies

Bella had the same schedule as me. And....  kelly. Uh oh. I knew Kelly could probably start stuff between bella and i. "Same schedule. So I guess I'll ask to show you around." I said. I already knew I could so I showed bella around the whole school. Thankfully, this got me out of class with kelly. I finally got to Bella's locker and showed her how to open it. "35-40-15" she said as she tried it out. Finally, for the fifth time,  she opened it. She set all of her stuff in a pile inside of her locker. She kind of reminded me of, well, me. Bella and I walked down the hallway to Mr. Fernandez's room. We both laughed as We walked into the classroom. Kelly stared at me with tears in her eyes. "Ok. Bella. You sit next to..  Jamison!" He said. I jumped of joy. "Here sit where kelly is sitting. " Fernandez explained. Kelly was moved to the back where it's the hardest to get out of the classroom. If you were late to Mrs. Smith's class. Then you would be told to run track. The bell rang and everyone jumped up. "Just follow me." I said smiling. We locked elbows and walked to Mrs. Smith's classroom.

Right then and there. I became jealous. Jamison was happy without me. I didn't know for sure if those rumors were for real. But I want my best friend back. I love her. I haven't told anybody, but ive missed her. More than anything. I walked out of the classroom, 3 minutes late. Of course I had to run track.

I felt kind of bad for Kelly. But she has ALWAYS been mean to me ever since those rumors. I tried ignoring the fact I made kelly run track. "Ok. There is only one empty seat in her classroom. Which is next to me. And kelly. " I said. "Who's Kelly? Is she the girl that had to run track? " Bella asked. "Yeaa. " I said. "She rolled her eyes at me. " Bella said.  Kelly was jealous. But it's her fault that were not friends. "Mrs. Smith? " I asked as I rose my hand. "Yes jamison? " Smith asked. "May I use the bathroom? " I asked. "Go ahead. You have 3 minutes" Smith Said. I ran out of the door and walked to the huge bathroom past the smaller bathroom. I walked into the bathroom and chose a smaller stall. I heard a slight crying noise. I was too afraid to ask if anybody was there. When I was finally done going to the bathroom I looked under each stall and only one of them were closed. I stood up and walked to the stall. "Hey. Who's in here? " I asked. I opened the stall slightly. I saw kelly. Kelly was crying her eyes out. "what's wrong? " I asked. "Nothing. I'm fine. " she said wiping her eyes. "Kelly. I know you better than this. TELL ME! " I said shaking her. "Fine. I miss us. " she said. "I miss being your best friend. " kelly explained. I felt horrible. "Well youre the reason I'm gone. " I said. "I know. I deserve this. " she said. "Nobody deserves this. " I said. I hugged her tightly. "But you have that Bella girl. She probably doesn't like me. " kelly explained. "Maybe if you keep the eye rolls to yourself. " I laughed. I lifted her off the closed toilet. "C'mon. Let's meet her." I said. I walked down the hall with kelly. We both stopped in our place. We both had fear in our eyes. "Oh Hey bitches." Lacey smirked. Kelly and I walked back slowly. "Lacey. Let us go to class. We didn't do anything." Kelly said. I saw Mrs. Smith's door open. Bella walked out. Lacey forced her hands at our chests. Kelly and I both landed on our backs. I sat there. I wasn't able to get up from my place. I was to in shock. "HEY?! BACK OFF! " Bella yelled. I stood up to see Bella in Laceys face. "Who do you think you are?  Are you another one of these people? " Lacey asked. "oh and take a breathe mint. " Lacey said."sorry you need them more than I do. " Bella said slapping the whole case out of Laceys hand. "Whatever. " Lacey said. "I'll see you later. " Lacey said. Lacey walked away. "Thanks Bella. I didn't know you weren't afraid. " Kelly and I said together. We all walked back to tribe time.

~After School ~

Kelly, bella, and I are all best friends now. I felt good having kelly back. "OK kell. We need to start walking home. Wanna stop at the park?  The one everyone hangs out at?" I asked. Kelly nodded. We both started walking down the street. We both glanced up from our phones at the park. There was nobody there, except one person. Lacey. "Oh. Hey guys. Told you I would see you later. " Lacey said, with an evil smile on her face. I was shocked. She was right. Kelly and I tried ignoring her by getting on the swings. "Oh. C'mon. Don't you wanna play?" Lacey asked. "Or are you afraid cause your body guard, Bella, isn't here?" Lacey said. I rose from my swing. "What do you want? " I asked. "Come up here. I have a trick for you. " Lacey said. I climbed up the ladder, doing what she said so she would leave. "Stand up there. And then I'll leave y'all alone. " Lacey said pointing at the top of the swing set. I knew if I didn't do it she wouldn't leave my friends and I alone. That put them in danger. I climbed to the very top. It began to get slippery. "Now what? " I asked. Lacey pulled out her phone and took a picture. "Now... let me help you. " Lacey said. She climbed where I was. Kelly stood up and stared at me. "Jamie get down. That's totally dangerous. Please?" Kelly asked. I ignored her. Lacey rose to the top where I stood. "Now. You jump. " Lacey said. She was out of her mind if she thought I would jump onto the wood chips. "No. Stop. " I said. I grabbed Laceys hand. "If I jump, you will too. " I said. Although I was lying. Rain started to pour out of no where. The metal bars became slippery. "Jamie. Please?! " kelly yelled. I was fixing to climb off the swing set when it happend. I slipped off and my body hung.I was as hanging on with my finger tips. 50 feet from the ground. I tried not to look down. "jamison. Just let go!" Lacey said climbing down the ladder onto the wood chips. I started to feel rain mixing in with my tears. My sweaty, cold, wet hands started slipping. I finally let go. That was it. I knew I wouldn't survive that.
