It's the fourth day of their romantic getaway. However, the weather was not so good, and the two world leaders decided to sit in a cafe for all that small talks and loving caresses.
"It's that cafe I used to go when I was in college. Trust me, their desserts are out of this world." Emmanuel said, gazing at Justin's gorgeous blue eyes. They shone like the rarest and the brightest sapphires ever. "I'm looking forward to it, really." The Prime Minister answered, and they both walked into the shop holding hands. "Hey, hey, leave my hand alone!" The President whispered, and Justin let go of his hand unwillingly.
Emmanuel took off his hat and told his lover not to take off his because he wouldn't want people know that he was with the Prime Minister of Canada on his day off. "Oh, Monsieur Macron! I haven't met you since you became president!" The shop owner came out of the pantry and gave Emmanuel a big, tight hug with kisses. Good thing, there was not many people in the cafe or else the crazy fangirls would rush in and take selfies with him. "By the way, who's that? Your friend? I've never seen him around here." The owner pointed at that mysterious guy with a hat on. "Uh... Yeah! We're friends. Friends. He's, um, from Canada." Emmanuel was so nervous he couldn't control his voice. He could do that on election rallies and speeches, but when it comes to love and cheating, he just can't do it.
"Bon Appétit, le boys!" A few minutes later, the cafe owner came to their table with a tray full of fancy desserts and latte. Justin picked up a piece of chocolate macaron and laughed. "There I am again, having macarons with Macron. Sorry I made a pun again, but you're just as sweet as one. Maybe even sweeter." He popped it in his mouth, savouring the sweetness of the almond and the meringue.
"Justin," Emmanuel suddenly whispered. "What is it?" He lifted his head up upon hearing the Frenchman saying his name. "I think I have something very important to tell you. Really." Emmanuel's smile disappeared. Instead, his emotions was as the same as the gloomy rain outside. "I feel so sorry for Sophie and Bridgitte, but I want us to get together. Forever." He said. "You mean... You want to get married? Let's do that when we both get out of office, okay?" Justin reached out his arms and touched Emmanuel's shoulders. "B- But I don't want to wait! I am tired of all these waiting...!" He was looking down the table. From Justin's point of view, he could see drops of tears were falling down his eyes.
"Sorry." He replied. "Sorry for being miles apart, sorry for not having enough time to see you except for meetings, I'm sorry for everything."
He was bringing the Canadian apologizing stereotype to a whole new level.
