"So, full cream or one percent?" I glanced at Luke, wondering what the hell he was talking about before I realized we were pushing the trolley, well, Luke was pushing the trolley, down the fridge aisle. I glanced over all the different milk labels before shrugging and nonchalantly saying, "Chocolate".

Instead of rolling his eyes like I would have expected, he simply chuckled and shook his head before taking two cartons of milk off of the shelf. One full cream for Aunt Deb and one chocolate for me. I smiled as Luke didn't question my strange fetish for chocolate milk in everything - cereal included - and I continued to stroll down the aisle with him as he pulled eggs, cream, cheese and butter off of the shelves for my aunt as well.

"Do you eat yoghurt?" Luke asked as an afterthought, before he turned the corner to the frozen food section and glanced back at me as I furrowed my eyebrows and crinkled my nose, "Only milo yoghurt," Luke then rolled his eyes at my immaturity to eat any healthy dairy products.

"Don't give me that look," I scolded him, "There isn't anything I wouldn't eat if it was dipped in chocolate, and you would to, so there," I said while flipping my dark hair over my shoulder so it cascaded in chest length waves down my back as I flipped Luke off, pretending I was mad at his judgement.

"Would you eat a chocolate covered toe?" I glanced back at Luke, wondering where the hell he came up with this sort of stuff but I just sighed, actually thinking about his strange question for several minutes as the two of us pulled things off the shelves in the frozen food section of the supermarket, adding them to the cart.

"Yes," I concluded, "If it was covered in chocolate, I would eat a toe," Luke burst out in loud guffaws as many middle aged and elderly shoppers turned to give him the stink eye, but I just stared at his boyish features. While laughing, Luke had this, innocence, about him that he didn't have when he was serious or composed.

He didn't seem dangerous or cocky or any type of bad boy he usually seemed like while he was just talking or smirking at me. Right now, while he laughed at my conclusion to the chocolate covered toe, I saw the real Luke, the one that seemed hidden behind false pretenses and bad boy ripped jeans.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer," Luke sneered when he quit laughing and caught me staring at him, which I had quickly looked away from, but not quick enough it seemed. I just sighed and rolled my eyes, and now, Luke wasn't laughing anymore and though he was still alright, he just wasn't open. And if there was something I hated more than anything (apart from spiders or blood), it was people not being open with me.

I didn't expect Luke to tell me his entire background in the first five minutes we had met, but I also didn't expect him to come up with this fake facade that made him come off as a dick. Although, maybe I was just biting the bullet, maybe it wasn't me Luke was pretending for, maybe he did that with everyone - maybe that was just who he was, hidden and full of mysteries.

"In your dreams," I shook my head clear and shoved Luke as I began to walk ahead, only to have him quickly back at my side, pushing the shopping trolley ahead of him like it weighed nothing and it wasn't held down by a gazillion gorceries that I kept adding to it every five seconds.

"Oh, it will be," Luke winked at me as we headed towards the check outs, only to be stopped by three teenage girls - all glaring at me - and looking exactly the same. Fake blonde hair, extensions to match, fake eyelashes, black eyeliner, crop tops and short shorts paired with little pairs of ugg boots even though it was a million degrees outside and it was summer in California.

I knew girls like this from Florida, they were all the same, and they all seemed to know Luke.

"Hey, Luke," The one in the middle, taller than the other two by a whole head and noticeably slimmer than the others. I cocked my head to the side as every three seconds she glance over at me as if to see if I was still there, if I really was shopping with Luke, or if I was just a figment of her idiotic imagination.

"Hey, Mia," Luke greeted her like they old friends but I sensed the air of distaste that radiated off of him, "Emma, Caroline," Luke nodded to the two blondes that sat on Mia's haunches, as if waiting some sort of command to be able to do anything.

"Luke, who's your friend?" Mia looked me up and down again, saying friend as if she wished she could call me a hoe, kick me to the curb and take Luke back to her place for a little alone time. But I just held my ground, raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms over my chest, who did she think she was anyway?

"This is Marina," Luke said, "She's Deb Evans niece," Mia's face seemed to cloud over with diguised familiarity and I guessed that Aunt Deb was rather popular around her with the youth, and I wasn't sure whether to feel disgusted or pleased that my aunt was so... hip?

"Oh!" Mia placed a stupid smile on her carrot toned face, "Deb told me to watch out for you and keep you entertained while you spent the summer here!" Mia clambered and I just sighed, wishing that I was out the back by the pool reading John Green and crossing off my summer bucket list all on my own.

"Do you work for my aunt too?" I asked dubiously and Luke stepped on my foot, causing me to screech as I glared at him as he gave me a stupid look. But Mia didn't seem to notice, she was more worried with the fact that I was standing in suck close proximity to Luke... Talk about jealous.

"No, my mother is partners with Deb!" Mia careened that sickly sweet smile on her face and pretended she wasn't a crude bitch right under the surface, I just nodded, bidding her goodbye and pulling Luke towards the check outs until we were stopped once again by Mia's annoying voice.

"Luke, come to the bonfire tonight! You can bring Marina if you want, Ashton will be there and I'm sure he'd love to meet her!" Mia crooned, and was it just me, or did I feel Luke stiffen at the mention of someone named Ashton loving to meet me? I didn't know, and I wasn't sure that I cared, seeing as going to a bonfire was number seventeen on my summer bucket list.

um, ew, disgusting chapter. Mia will become more important later on and yAY I introduced Ash :'))) Hope you liked it anyway. xx
