Percy's POV

I got my stuff packed in my backpack and walk downstairs to the smell of waffles. I walk into the kitchen and there sitting by the table setting out the waffles on everyone's plates is my mom, Sally Jackson. I walk over to her and give her a kiss on the cheek.

"Goodmorning mom " I say as I sit down and start eating my waffles. But not just any kind of waffles they were blue. Yum.

"Goodmorning Percy,you ready for your first day at school?" My mom asked me. You see I got kicked out of my old school,Yancy Academy, for having 'poor grades'.

"I guess, I just don't want to get kicked out again." I say while I finish my blue waffles and washing the dish.

"You'll do fine honey, and besides your step father is going to be there to so don't you worry." My mom says. My mom re-married to my step-dad,Paul Blofis, since my dad got lost at sea. I like Paul he's nothing like my old step-dad,Gabe Ulgiano, because Gabe was an alcoholic and used drugs and also abused me and my mom.

I finish washing the dish and kiss my mom on the cheek.

"Bye mom, see you later " I say as I walk out the door.

She smiles and waves and yells,"Have a good day."

I walk down the street using my phone for navigation since I don't know how to get there. I start following the GPS's route when  a girl walks out of her house. The one right next to mine. She's wearing a baggy dark red sweater with some jeans and beaten up white converse shoes. She had blonde hair curled like a princess and a tan. She stared down at the ground as she walked and walked straight by Mr without even looking up.

"Hey, are you heading to school?" I ask while jogging up to her.

She looked at me and nodded then looked away. Up close I can see she has stormy grey eyes and wasn't wearing any makeup. I kept walking and my GPS said "take a right then go straight a hundred yards then you have reached your destination" I put my phone in my pocket.

she looked over at me and said, "Do you go to Goode?"

"Yeah I'm new there so I don't really know where to go so I just used the GPS" I say thinking 'She's actually talking to me?'

"I go there to. I can show you around if you want." She asks with a quiet voice not meeting my eyes.

"Cool and sure. Sooo... what's your name?" I ask.

"Annabeth Chase" She says reaching her hand out for me to shake it.

"Percy Jackson" I say and shake her hand.

We walked the rest of the way silently, but a comfortable silence ad I listen to All of Me by John Legend.

We reach the school and walk in. I go to the front desk and see a lady with brown hair and brown eyes. She's wearing a t-shirt that says 'Go big and buy me a large pizza and go home' with some black leggings. She was typing on her computer and looked up to see me and Annabeth. She smiled gingerly.

"Ohhhh you're the new student aren't you?" The lady asked. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm Percy Jackson and I came here to pick up my schedule and locker number please" I told the lady.

She smiled then nodded and went to the shelf that was behind her desk before coming back and giving me my schedule and locker number.

She smiled and said," Here you go have a Goode day."
