"This is followed by laughter because we're in high school, which means we're predictable and almost everything is funny, especially if it's someone else's public humiliation." -Jennifer Niven, All the Bright Places.

Perrie never thought she would step into the first day of sophomore year in high school before she had her first kiss. She wouldn't consider herself popular, but always knew she could find a desperate nerd who wants to kiss her if she really needed to; just so she could say she kissed.

She dedicated her summer to find someone who is willing to put his lips on hers, but it was no success. And after so many pointless dates, she was left with the feeling something's wrong her. It must be the problem, since her two best friends have kissed more than enough guys. Whenever she talked with Jesy and Leigh Anne about sexual opinions and experiences, she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.

"Hey," Karl Thirlwall, a senior, smiles at Perrie and walkes faster so he could catch up with her quick steps.

"Hey," Perrie replies. She never spoke with him, but he always smiled at her when they passed by each other at the hall.

"I'm having a party tonight. Want to come?" The question catches Perrie off guard, and she stumbles on her path, barely avoiding falling. Being invited to senior parties is not something usual for her, although she knows it is for some other sophomores.

"Yeah. Sure." It is obvious that parties such as this one are meant to get everyone drunk. Perrie doesn't drink, but maybe a shot of Vodka will be all it takes to make a boy kiss her. She promises herself that's the only reason she will show up.

Karl mumbles a goodbye as he turns left and Perrie turns right.

Perrie walks into the class for her first period, Math. She used to hate Math, but now she kind of likes it. Jade is sitting one desk before her, just like she did last year. She always helps Perrie with her homework, and never expects to get something back. Perrie loves her, and she could never understand why Jade was getting bullied in the last few years. She's a very nice girl.

"Jade!" Perrie calls her and taps on the brunette's shoulder. Jade turns around and her smile amazes Perrie. She's never seen her this happy.

"Pez. I've missed you." Except her family, Perrie only allows Jade to call her by that nickname. It sounds beautiful coming out of her mouth, and she does not want other people to ruin it. "Are you coming to the party tonight?" Jade asks, and makes a smile appear on Perrie's lips as she nods in response. She should have known Jade is going to be there, judging by the fact the party is at her house.

Jade reminds herself to thank Karl after school today. The two siblings are very close, and Karl knows how important Perrie is to his little sister. She didn't ask him to invite her to his party, but is thankful he did so.

The teacher walks in as Perrie whispers one more thing to Jade.

"You look great," she says, not knowing if Jade hears her. It is the truth. There have been rumors saying Jade is anorexic, and Perrie thought these are true. She doesn't know Jade outside Math class, but it isn't hard to notice how thin she is. Though it seems like she gained some weight over the summer, which made Perrie happy for her.

Jade turns around and flashes a smile at Perrie. The blonde returns one, and takes her blue notebook out.

Jade feels shivers down her back as she turns back around. She has had a crush on Perrie ever since ninth grade, and is thankful Perrie started the conversation, even if it's just a short one. She is happy Perrie noticed her looks. Jade fell for Perrie's smile, and eyes, and the way she taps on her shoulder, and that look she wears when she doesn't know how to solve the equation. She fell for everything.
