My eyes fluttered open as my alarm wouldn't stop beeping. It was only 5:30am. God! It was so early. I could literally feel the bags under my eyes. I wished I could skip out on training this morning but it wasn't even an option. I rubbed my eyes and managed to drag myself out of bed. My roomie was fast asleep, she was probably still knocked out and hangover from the party she was at last night.
I grabbed my trainers and ditched my PJs for sweatpants and a sports bra. I pulled my hair back into a high ponytail, put on my headphones and shot out of the room.
My room to the gymnasium was quite the distance so it served as my daily jog routine. I arrived at the Henry Couver gym some fifteen minutes later and immediately switched to training mode.
I had to work extra hard and put in extra effort if I wanted to win gold at sectionals which was a few weeks away.
Artistic gymnastics is not easy, it requires constant training and practice and me being a full time college student was not helping matters so I had to work twice as hard as the homeschooled gymnasts.
I stretched on the mats and run some laps around the court.
I changed into my leotard and was about to get started on my routines when an awfully familiar voice boomed out,
"Hey Champion!"
I turned around and saw Andrew Dane standing there in all his glory with his signature smirk plastered on his face and his arms outstretched. I ran excitedly into his arms as he engulfed me in a tight embrace. Gosh it was so good to have him back. I heard whispers all around and could literally see girls drooling as they stared at Andrew hoping to get his attention. I rolled my eyes but still chuckled lightly at this scene.
You couldn't blame them. Andrew was the dual heir to the Danes chain of companies. They owned banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms worldwide. Aside that, Daniel was also the 2016 National Olympic Champion and he won silver at worlds so yeah, he was pretty much a big deal. And the whole cherry on the cake? Andrew was fine! I wasn't one of those girls who drooled over him and couldn't stop singing his praise songs but I was a human being with two frigging eyes in front of me so I could attest to the fact that he was drop dead gorgeous.
"Where's Adaline?" I asked as we broke from the hug. Adaline was Andrew's twin sister or as he liked to say, his younger sister--he was just older than her three minutes but he'll never let her hear the end of it--and those two were practically joined at the hip.
"She's still in Canada, busily preparing for Nationals."
"Oh that's great. I really miss her" I said with a pout
"She misses you too Tash, we all do"
"Awwwww that's so sweet" I said, wiping a fake tear from my eyes and touching my chest dramatically
"You're such a dork" Andrew said chuckling
"And you love me" I said laughing with him.
"And now if you'll excuse me, the uneven bars await me" I said sassily and sashayed towards the bars.
After putting on my grips and chalking my palms I mounted the uneven bars and started off with a Pak Salto. I completed my dismount with a double Arabian and landed perfectly.
Ehh well not so perfectly.
Apparently the land put so much strain on my hurting ankle that it twisted and I landed on my back. I started to feel dizzy.
"Tasha!" I heard Andrew scream across the court. People had started gathering around me but Andrew managed to maneuver through them and get to my side. He carried me in his arms and took me to see the designated gymnasts nurse.
