A New Start (Gabentine)

A/N; this is my new story! Hope you'll enjoy! :D // RE-MADE THIS CHAPTER 3 TIMES! I started at 3:00, fell asleep, and finished it at 11:00 am! 😂

It's been 3 days since Clementine set out with Gabe to find AJ. They were walking to the ranch for days without rest and barley any food. Only enough to last a meal.

Clementine could only hope they were somewhat close to the Ranch.

"Shouldn't we get supplies from any place around here?". Gabe exclaimed, looking around the forest. He had tagged along with Clementine on her search for AJ. Well, Clementine had asked if he wanted to come. "No, it wont be necessary. We're just getting AJ and then leaving". "O..Okay"

The rest of the walk was rather silent. Neither of them spoke for the next couple of hours. The only sounds that were to be heard were the growls from walkers and leafs crumbling under their feet.

After more hours of walking, they spotted a rather large bunny. Night was approaching so it wasn't a bad idea to have the rabbit for dinner. "I can shoot it if I can get a little bit closer..". Gabe then slowly took out his gun and aimed it at the rabbit. "Okay.. be quick, I don't want to attract any walkers", "Yeah.. okay".

BAM! Gabe fell to the floor "F-FUCK! AGHH!" He roared in pain as he clutched his wound. "H-Holy shit! Gabe!". Clementine rushed over to Gabe and examined his wound. He had been shot in the shoulder. "No.. no..no.." the wound didn't go all the way through and would be able to be fixed well. Clementine plopped Gabe on her back. He was a bit heavier then she had imagined, but she would give it all her best to save her friend. Leafs started to crumble behind them. "Fuck fuck fuck! I was aiming for the bunny! Shit". Clementine instantly turned around and took out her gun and aimed it at the figure. It was a Woman. She had dirty blond hair that was cut extremely short, and a scar that went over the right eye. "Please don't shoot! I-I'm so sorry!"

"Sorry doesn't exactly cut it. You shot my friend!" Clementine glanced back at Gabe who had passed out from blood loss and the pain. She had to hurry. "I can help ya! We've got a Doctor who can help you!"

"Why should I trust you?! You couldn't shoot a fucking bunny and instead shot my friend!"

"You've gotta hurry! Just trust me ..please.."

Clementine didn't want to trust the woman but... she had to do it for Gabe.

"Fine! You fix Gabe up and then we're out of here!"

"You've got it. My car is close from here"

They both hit the road and started driving to wherever the woman was leading them to. Clementine kept trying to stop Gabes bleeding. Eventually, the bleeding stopped but his arm was swollen. She wrapped up his wound with a clean cloth that was in the back.

"We're here!"

They had stopped at a rather large house, with a gate covering it. "Lisa, back already?" A man hopped of the porch and greeted the woman. His eyes quickly shifted to Clementine and Gabe. "Who are the-". "No time to explain! We've got a wounded!".

All four of them rushed into the house and laid Gabe on an old hospital bed. A older man soon came out and did the operation on Gabe.

Hours passed. They were able to get the bullet out of his shoulder and was now recovering. Clementine had to stay for Gabes sake. She could risk it. She was interrupted by the thoughts when Lisa came to fetch her for dinner.

Dinner was rather quiet. Lisa would try to make small talk with Clementine and ask her question but she stayed silent. "She's quite... fierce, Lisa" "Tell me about it, Danny". They both chuckled and kept eating their dinner. Clementine rolled her eyes in annoyance and continued her supper.

Clementine dismissed herself from the table to check up on Gabe. And to head to bed.

When she walked in the room Gabe was awake. "H-Hey.." he replied in a rather croaky voice, and also cracking. "Hey". She sat on the chair beside him. "So... how's your shoulder?". "Hurts like hell". "I've been shot in the shoulder once also... it's not fun." She cringed at the memory of her painful event of...
Being shot. Then she remembered Kenny, Bonnie, Mike and Jane... she really missed them. Gabe noticed her frown and attempted to give her a hug. "You dork... you can barley move your arm". She chuckled at his attempt of hugging, but she gave him a hug back. They stayed like that for a couple minutes until Gabe pulled away and smiled at Clementine. "You should get some rest". Gabe nodded. "Same with you".

Before Clementine left the room Gabe whisper shouted something "Good night, Clem". Clementine turned around and gave him a grin,

"Night, Dork."
