Emma's POV*

I began to look into those brown orbs that turned into a hazel glaze from crying. " How long has this been occuring?" I asked her hoping that I wasn't blind to Robin's antics for a while. She opened her gorgeous mouth than closed it, so I put a reassuring hand on her cheek which she slowly leaned into welcoming it as if she hasn't experienced a kind touch like this in forever, and it would disappear in the blink of an eye. "You can tell me Regina. I'm hear for you. There is nothing you can tell me that would make me run away." She took a deep breath as if it was the last one she would ever take again. I quickly wondered how often does she have that fear? That the breath she inhales could probably be her last.

Regina's POV*

"I...i...i may have left some information out about the abuse I received from Robin. I'm sorry," I said bracing myself for the blow. I DON'T recognize myself anymore the strong woman I once was IS long gone now. Robin's abuse replaced her with a weak, feeble sorry excuse for a Queen. Queen- I don't even deserve that title anymore more or less Mayor. "It's ok, Regina. Can you tell me now?" Her piercing blue-green eyes were painted with anger, pity, sorrow, determination, and love. Wait love that can't be right the Savior doesn't love me it must be for the pirate that she has been seeing. But they only went on 3 dates. This love in her eye can't be for the Charming clan because it isn't a familial love. Who is it for? Am I jealous NO I CAN'T BE! "Regina?" her sweet voice said breaking out of my inner thoughts. "Y-yes?" "Can you tell me now?" she repeats her previous question. I can't tell her Robin's outburst went beyond one punch. I couldn't. I had to do what I did best put on my mask.

Emma's POV*

I seen a wave of emotion go over Regina's face after I repeated my question then I seen something I haven't seen in a while. The evil smirk. She pulled her face away from my hand and spit "Why do you care to know Miss. Swan?" Miss. Swan she hasn't called me that name in a few months except for a few witty remarks here and there but they slowly declined. What happened? Regina was about to tell me. My face must have looked utterly shocked and hurt because it made her smirk grow. But as I looked into her eyes I seen longing and remorse as if she wanted to tell me but she couldn't. I felt heartbroken and damaged for her. I tried my best to reflect understanding the need to hide the truth because I did since I did it countless times before. With that I got up from the couch, kissed the top of her head which caused her smirk to disappear and a shudder to erupt from us both. "Tell me when your ready Madame Mayor," and with that I left.

Regina's POV*

Robin began getting worse. He started hitting my face a few times over the past 3 weeks since Emma's visit. He slapped me 5 days ago because when the pizza he ordered came I answered the door and the delivery person was a man. He accused me of fucking the guy mine you the delivery man or sould I say boy was no older than 17. An hour ago he punched my eye because I waved at David. DAVID! Who is madly in love with Mary Margaret. After that I grabbed my gucci sunglasses that went with my tight black dress and red pumps, and ran into my BMW and drove to Granny's. The bell ringed hinting my arrival to everyone. They couldn't see my swollen black eye because my shades blocked it. But shades don't do well indoors, so I bumped into someone causing not only them to fall but my shades to also. I quickly put my left hand to my left eye to cover it up. Then extended my right hand to assist whoever I knocked over. "Sorry," I mumbled not looking at the person but for my sunglasses. "It's quite alright..."

Emma's POV*

"...Madame Mayor?" I stated as a question because I couldn't clearly see her face. But I could see the body and that was quite enough information for me. Damn those long, olive toned legs. The way they pop out of the dress. And how they leave you wanting to travel farther up her body. Then the cleavage that's poking out of the sweetheart neckline of the dress leaves your imagination wondering. However she's hiding her face. Her beautiful face. Particularly one eye. "What's wrong Mayor? Are you searching for something?" I asks realizing Regina's right eye was wandering the floor. "I'm fine I'm just looking for my sunglasses you may return to whatever you was planning on doing Miss. Swan." I began looking for the shades to hoping to beat Regina at since I know she's lying at least at being 'fine.' Sure she is physically but mentally not a chance. I found the white and gold shades under a booth luckily one no-one was occupying and I grabbed them swiftly. Regina held her right hand out for the shades careful not to remove her left hand. I wasn't having that. "Remove your left hand." I commanded. She did but replaced it with her right careful not to let anything show. Cleverly cute. "Uncover your face." Instead of following that order she quickly exited the diner and made her way back towards the car. I followed faster so she didn't make it in. I grabbed her shoulder gently because I was now right behind her. "What's wrong Regina?" She turned around to face me with nothing coving her face but  tears. I gasped and pulled her into a hug. "Remember 3 weeks ago you asked me why I cared?" She nodded  against my shoulder. I released myself from her grasp and kissed her eye in a friendly sort of way but it lasted longer than a friend should. "It's because I'm a friend"
