"What the hell?"

My mind spun and I felt a bit nauseous. I broke my gaze away from his. What is he talking about? What does he think he knows? I backed away as much as I could. He was still gripping my wrist but his hand was looser now. I glanced up at him. His eyes were cold yet filled with a childlike curiosity.
"I know that this is going to sound weird but just bare with me." He dropped my wrist and inhaled. He was preparing to drop a bomb on my life and I knew it.
"I don't know how to explain this. Um..." He stuttered and I could tell he was thinks hard about something.
"Oh, I'll just show you instead." He grabbed my hand again. He spread my hand flat. He traced his fingers down my pointer finger and then back into the middle of my palm. When he lifted his finger a flickering black flame hovered in mid air above my hand.
I gasped and my eyes widened. He let go of my wrist and opened his own palm. A blue flame a little larger and stronger than the black flame appeared. I held my fingers above the dark black flame to test if the flame would burn my fingers. It didn't hurt one bit.
My eyes slowly blurred and the flame disappeared as the ground swayed beneath my feet. Suddenly aware of my dizziness the boy started to chant a rhyme in a strange language.
The blue flame disappeared into wisps of lighter blue smoke. The smoke floated through the air and curled around my arms. The ground stopped swaying and my vision was once again clear.
"What was that?" He looked unimpressed and annoyed with the question.
"I thought you would have caught on by now. That was magic. You're a witch. Always have been but your refusal to believe has cost us a few years." He turned his back and started to walk to the exit of the gym.
"Us?" I whispered to myself. He couldn't hear me. "Wait! Where are you going?" He didn't slow his pace or even hesitate.
"I have work to do. The coven will be glad to know that I have found you. I'll be back soon." He snapped his fingers and disappeared in a puff of grey smoke.
The grey smoke seemed to stay with me as I walked home. It was a fairly warm day but a cloud of cold air surrounded me. It was like a haze that separated me from the rest of the world.
Had the haze always been there? Was I just starting to notice it? I had always been different but I never believed I was a special kind of different. Different and special aren't the same things.
I snapped out of my thoughts and stopped walking. I heard a rustling sound behind me. I turned around but nothing was there. I'm just paranoid. I ran the last few steps to my house. As I locked the door I felt compelled to check outside.
I pulled the curtains to the side and peeked outside. The sun was covered by dark clouds but other than that everything was normal.
I started to turn away from the glass window but a dark flash in the corner of my eyes pulled me back. A dark black essence floated in the air. A puff of smoke and suddenly a fire was burning in the middle of the street. An inhuman voice growled. The sound surrounded me. I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from.
"We found you too." The voice cut out. My hands dropped from the side of my head. My eyes shot back up towards the window. I screeched and jumped away from the cold glass. The curtains dropped in front of the window again.
Had I just seen what I thought I had seen? It couldn't be. I dreamed of that thing the entire night. The blazing eyes. The dark flames surrounding its body. The twisted limbs, its unforgettable voice, and it's unforgettable words.
                  "We found you too."
