Upsy Daisy loved many things. She loved flowers, she loved her bed, she loved Igglepiggle. She led a happy life in the Night Garden, but there was one thing she found herself wanting. She wanted Igglepiggle. As more than just a friend.
She wanted to share her life with him, her flowers and her bed. She wanted to spend every waking moment in his company, talking with him, playing with him, laughing with him. She wanted him.
She sauntered across the garden, yelling "Upsy-Daisy!" as she went. Soon, she found the Ninky Nonk coming from the other side of the hedge. She spotted Igglepiggle on the other side of the garden, and he ran up to her, excited. He hugged her. Upsy Daisy let herself soak in the embrace, Igglepiggle's strong arms wrapped around her body. It was delightful.
The Ninky Nonk approached the two friends, its light blinking as it came to a stop. The Tombliboos waved from their car. Upsy Daisy and Igglepiggle approached their own, a tall pink-and-blue striped house. They climbed the stairs up and buckled themselves onto their couches across from each other.
The light began blinking again, the doors slid shut, and the Ninky Nonk took off once again.
"Upsy Daisy! Oh, Upsy Daisy!" she cried as she was tossed and turned in the car. Igglepiggle fell over in his seat as the train turned a corner. Still the Ninky Nonk rambled on through the forest.
"Upsy Daisy?" Upsy Daisy asked Igglepiggle. "Upsy Daisy Igglepiggle mwaaaah." This was her way of trying to explain that she loved Igglepiggle.
"Igglepiggle?" Igglepiggle asked, confused as to what Upsy Daisy wanted.
"Upsy Daisy mwaaaah Igglepiggle!" she repeated, trying to convey her message.
"Igglepiggle," Igglepiggle replied, finally understanding what Upsy Daisy was trying to tell her.
"Upsy Daisy! Daisy Doo!" Upsy Daisy squealed in happiness. She flapped her arms up and down excitedly. Her hair sprang to life.
"Igglepiggle!" Igglepiggle said, now sharing Upsy Daisy's enthusiasm. Upsy Daisy, realizing something, glanced down at the her waist and the seat belt holding her down. "Upsy Daisy," she said, pointing outside. Soon enough, the Ninky Nonk stopped moving to let the Pontipines on board. At the same time, Upsy Daisy and Igglepiggle unbuckled themselves and climbed down onto the grass. The two of them reached for each other's hands and held tightly to each other as they crossed the Tune Bridge.
Holding hands, they skipped across the bridge and away into the Night Garden. When they had found a place that seemed private enough, far away from everyone else, they stopped. Igglepiggle settled down onto a rock. Upsy Daisy tried to sit down on one nearby, but Igglepiggle stopped her. "Igglepiggle!" He said, patting a space beside him. Upsy Daisy got up, and sat beside Igglepiggle. There was not very much room on the rock, but they both fit.
Igglepiggle grabbed Upsy Daisy's face in his hands and pulled it towards his own. Their mouths met, and satisfaction coursed through them both. They had each been waiting for this their entire lives.
Igglepiggle kissed Upsy Daisy passionately. This was the one thing he had wanted in life, and now he had it. He planned to keep it for a while, too. Forever, if Upsy Daisy wanted it too. He wished he could spend the rest of eternity here with his true love, frozen in time, kissing forever...
Upsy Daisy kissed Igglepiggle back just as passionately. Finally, she was getting what she wanted. Beneath all of the smiles and the loud shouts of "Upsy Daisy!", she had been getting impatient. But she wouldn't have to worry about that anymore, now that she was here with Igglepiggle.
Finally Igglepiggle drew his mouth away from hers. "Igglepiggle!" He squawked excitedly, giving Upsy Daisy a big hug. Then he sighed. 'Igglepiggle' was a fine word and all, but there was one more word he wished he could tell Upsy Daisy: 'Forever'.
"Upsy Daisy!" she replied, hugging Igglepiggle back. Then she kissed him again. His lips were warm, despite being a bit fuzzy, and she soaked in the amazing feeling. Suddenly she became a bit self-conscious. What if Igglepiggle didn't find her this good? This was a relatively new feeling to Upsy Daisy. Confused, she drew back from Igglepiggle.
"Upsy Daisy?" she asked, trying to ask Igglepiggle about how he felt, and whether she was good enough.
"Igglepiggle," he replied, somehow knowing what she meant, and nodded his head. He was confused as to how his Upsy Daisy could think that, when it was so clear that she was amazing. He leaned into her again and placed his mouth on her perfect one.
Upsy Daisy was ecstatic. She had found her true love at long last.
