how can you miss a person that's sitting right next to you?

how can you bear to love someone that no longer spares you a second glance (or never even did so in the first place)?

how can you bear to pine after someone whose eyes follow the back of a person who isn't you?

how can you bear to speak to someone whose tone of voice does not and has never mirrored yours?

your loving, hoping words that you always focused on them, but which they never gave back to you.

how can you bear to even look at a person who hurts you in ways that they are not even aware of?

how can you bear to love someone who doesn't love you back?

how can you miss someone who doesn't miss you?

how can you miss someone that you never had in the first place?
