A/N: Hello! I just wanted to inform you what this is about. This poem is called "The Evil Thing", it's from one of my all time favorite childhood movies, "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It." (2007). The movie is about a young teenage girl named Cassie Keller who moves to a new town around Halloween. She is bullied by the school's popular queen bee, Priscilla Wright. When Priscilla is voted Pumpkin Queen for the Halloween Dance, Cassie pulls a prank on her and fills the Pumpkin Pinata full of cockroaches. A mysterious shop appears in a dark ally. Cassie decides to check it out. It's a creepy gothic Halloween Store, which is right up Cassie's ally since she's really into scaring people. There is a mysterious man in the shop who sells her a dark and dangerous book called "The Evil Thing." When Cassie ignores the warnings and reads the book aloud to her younger brother Max to scare him, she brings forth a terrifying creature, The Evil Thing. Amongst all the chaos of Halloween night, Cassie and a boy from school, Shawn, have to save Priscilla, Max, and a goofy pizza delivery guy from being turned into The Evil Thing's baby food. This is the actual poem Cassie reads from the book to Max.
"The Evil Thing."
~ DO NOT READ ALOUD~
The Evil Thing is a gruesome beast
On living flesh it loves to feast
It's a two headed thing
Whom you don't whish to greet
One head sucks your blood
One head chews your meat
It carries its babies
In slimy eggs on its back
When the babies are hungry
They hatch for a snack
So The Evil Thing traps
Some poor victim alive
For the babies to eat
When their birthdays arrive
But don't worry, Don't cry
Please don't have a fit
The Evil Thing is not real
Unless you think about it
Remember,
Don't think about it.
Two heads are better than one,
That's the way to get a bloody job done.
