for me to tell her
for me to open up
for me to tear down the wall
she was the type to cry
when too sad
when too happy
when too angry
i could see the tears
letting themselves known
letting free the weakness in her
letting her emotions be shown
it's not that i didn't want to tell her
the words didn't want to come out
i didn't know how to put the right ones together
i felt anxious
i felt dyslexic
i opened my mouth
the words didn't leave my throat
so i shut my lips once more
she scoffed
she let a tear down
she gave up
& left .
