They were known as The Faceless, and they knew everything.
Let me explain. They first showed up in a small town in Tennessee in 1974. They wore all black, no matter the outfit. When They first came, there were only a handful of them. They would collectively gather outside shops or homes and peer in. Well, that's what the townspeople thought They were doing. On their faces, They only had a mouth, no eyes or anything else.
Naturally, like any self-respecting Americans, someone called the police. On the police record, it states that when the authorities showed up to The Johnson's house, six Faceless stood facing the police.
One of the faceless pointed at Chief Brad Jones and spoke calmly.
"May 6, 1954. Martha Bishop is buried in Blairsville, Georgia off of highway 76. Jack Stevens, Miller Cole, Lee Cates, and you, Brad Jones, released Martha into the woods and chased her until she stopped running."
At that point, Chief Jones pulled out his gun and shot the Faceless that was talking to him. The Faceless let out an ear piercing shriek and ran towards the chief. The Faceless then grabbed Chief Jones and ripped his heart out. That was the last time anyone tried to stop the Faceless.
It is now April 26, 1999. The Faceless are everywhere and they aren't as unusual as they were in the 70's. There also hadn't been an attack since that night in Tennessee.
Well, until now. Over the past week, Faceless attacks had skyrocketed. It appeared that something in them switched on. An attack switch. A majority of the time, they chose to expose powerful people and everyday Jane's and Joe's.
Physical attacks weren't as common, but they still happened. The worst one was just over a week ago on April 17. A man from Seattle was walking to his job when a group of five Faceless grabbed him by his limbs and head and pulled until he broke. Surveillance cameras caught the whole thing. He was just walking. He had done nothing to provoke them.
The media ate this up. Every news outlet covered the story of "The Man from Seattle Ripped Apart by Gang of Faceless". The Faceless were getting press coverage like never before. Their popularity grew with their crimes. Their fan-base grew along with their actions. Some people glorified their ways and created cults out of the Faceless' actions.
The Faceless are causing everything to change in the ways of the world. People do not run for congress or any office of power, the Faceless appoint them. They give you your job and if you resist you become merely a legend, a memory. No one is different or steps out of line. You either kill yourself or get killed.
After this article is published, I will be found dead, either in my own house or out in public. The Paper will be shut down and you may never read this. If someone does read this, I want people to know. I want the people to know that there used to be a time when you were allowed to do things. There was a time when I could write about anything and not have to kill myself after publishing my work. I want people to know that there used to be.
The Faceless are here and they are angry. Shut them down and destroy them. You are our hope. Long live the revolution. Long live freedom. Long live us.
