Everything in your life has been leading up to this. Every breath, every memory, every mistake, it's all lead you here. In the finest suit you could afford, before a crowd of family and friends in celebration of your marriage. Time is nothing when she is guided down the aisle by her father. She is the smell of rain after a thunderstorm, she is the color in the trees of fall. She is your lover, moments away from becoming your wife.

As you take her hand, you promise the world to her, you give up yourself to be her vessel. You are no longer yourself, you are now a being that can only feel happiness. Elated doesn't begin to describe yourself when you slide the ring onto her finger. Her eyes are lakes, they paralyze you when she gives you that familiar stare of awe. You can't help but return the gaze.

Your new life begins with the words, "I do". Reborn as the man you've always wanted to be, young and alive again, you pull her close and feel her heartbeat. Your soul kisses hers. Every second is an eternity, it always was with her. Every breath winds back the clock, every memory you can conceive of flashes before your eyes. Time is a foreign concept as she pulls you in for the kiss.

At this point, everyone else has vanished. In a void, you hold on to your new wife and never want to let go. Without words, you tell her everything. Although you've always been an open book, you share your mind with her. You share your soul with her, and she happily returns the favor.

You never thought you'd get her father's blessing, but you did. You never thought you'd gain her mother's approval, but you did. Because ever since freshman year of high school you realized that there's no one else like her. She was what you'd been searching for.

She was always the note on your piano that sounded prettier than the rest. She was always your instant painkiller, the crutch that never left you when you were crippled, the fire that kept you warm when you felt cold and alone.

Because it is so easy to feel empty when half of your heart is across the country. You and her walk separate paths, yet you maintain a connection that millions long for. You never take it for granted, for such a love seldom shows it's face in reality.

You live the dream of poets, you walk in the rose-tinted valleys of an impressionist's masterpiece. Every second you spend with her is a gift. Every "I love you" spoken takes away nothing from the phrase. No hug is half-hearted, because she deserves everything you can give.

You begin to cry, in front of everyone. You feel overwhelmed, excited, nervous, frozen, joyous. At the first glance of your reddened eyes, she joins you. A new chapter of your life is beginning, and you're more than ready. You want to show her the world, you want to take her everywhere she's wanted to go. You want to write music with her, you want paint and take long walks in the rain with her.

It seems as if it was destiny, as if fate had chosen two lovers from the very start of it. You were dealt the cards every hopeless romantic desires. Your paths crossed, and your life was changed forever. She makes you question everything you've ever believed in, because she is more than just a woman. She is one in infinity. She is perfect in her imperfections. She is your eternal bride, past the grave and into the next life.

When the ceremony is over, you take her hand and fly away together. She glows so vibrantly against the sun's light. Your wings take you far and wide, but no matter how far you fly away, you're always at home with her.

                        I'm so proud of you
