I checked myself in the mirror once again. I hope I was looking fine. Today was my first job interview, and I couldn't afford screwing it up. I had graduated with a lot of difficulties, had to work at Starbucks while attending every single day. This was my only chance of having an actual job with which I could be financially stable. This was my only chance of making my dad a little happy, ever since my mom divorced him and took everything.
I locked the door of my apartment and went outside the building. It was a small building, where basic living necessities were hard to come by. I lived alone. Dad lived in our old house back in Busan. I had to come to Seoul for college. He really wanted to come but he had to look after the small departmental store that was our only source of living for all these years.
Normally I would walk the distance, but today I booked an Uber. I had to look like a classy woman, and not the sweaty and tired girl I generally am. The company that I had an interview with was really big. The Park Group. The CEO is really young. Only 21. Just a year older than me and he leads such a big company. I don't know if I'll even be alive till that point considering my financial status. But you should always stay optimistic.
"We have arrived at your destination." My driver suddenly said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "What? Oh yeah!" I said as I gave him the money and got out of the cab. The building was HUGE. I took a deep breath and went right in. Inside four or five people were sitting on the couch outside a big cubicle. I found out the receptionist and walked towards her. "Hello, I'm here for the job interview." I told her. "Name please?" She asks. "Kim Hye Rin." She looked up at me and smiled, "Hello Miss Kim. Please go to that cubicle and wait until your name is called." She said while pointing to the cubicle where people were waiting to get in. I gulped. So these many people have applied for the job. I don't stand a chance.
I walked nervously towards the cubicle and sat on the couch awkwardly. My heart was racing really fast. I don't know how much time had passed until I heard a voice.
"Miss Kim?"Shit, it's my turn.
"Yes I'm coming."
I went inside the cubicle and I saw a woman with glasses reading something. She looked up to see me and smiled a little. I bowed down and greeted her. "Welcome Kim Hye Rin, please sit down." I sat down as gracefully as I could, while having a big smile on my face. "Hye Rin, please don't screw it up." I thought to myself.
*Forward to the end of the interview*
I walked out of the cubicle, trembling. "I probably screwed it up." I thought to myself. I was so nervous, my voice was shaking the whole time, and I was stuttering so bad. I sighed to myself, maybe this wasn't going to be as easy as I thought.
As I walked towards the exit, I saw a man with red hair surrounded by bodyguards. He was not very tall but he looked angelic. His shoulders were wide and muscular. He looked like someone who could be both hot and cute. I couldn't help staring at him, he was so handsome. Suddenly his eyes met mine and his eyes widened. Sudden pain shot through my forehead. I closed my eyes and tried to relax myself. "This way Mr. Park." A man told him. Ah, so he's the CEO. I've never seen a hotter boss to be honest. But I think I've seen him somewhere. But trying to remember him only makes my head hurt, so I give up and walk outside the gate. I didn't book a cab this time. They cost a lot anyway. I'll have to walk again. I sighed, I hope my condition gets better. Walking all the way when you're so sad and tired isn't exactly fun.
