"Samantha! My goodness it is so good to see you back here." Azira screamed as Samantha , the ginger girl, made her way out of the airport. They both shared a deep tight hug as friends do on such occasions choking on each others breath.
"I am really good." Samantha replied breathless."You haven't told Louise about me. Have you?"
"No! , Not a word." Azira said while shaking her head and torso simultaneously as if doing a Japanese hello.
"I know you have." Samantha said while walking over to the taxi with her enormous bags.
"I am sorry, I was so excited about it. I just couldn't compose myself and sort of blurted out." She said looking down.
"Come on! Hop in." Samantha laughed off.
Azira noticed that Samantha was wearing a rather odd long skirt, which had elephant and floral patterns. And her foot wear seemed quite different too, the punk colours and the goldenness of them was rather odd. And not to mention those huge earrings she had been hiding in her long locks.
"Whats with this look Sam?" Azira asked perplexed.
"Finally you noticed, what can I say." She breathed in " India is lovely country, and these are my memories of that place. I still can't believe I am back from that heavenly land. You see these earrings, quite big for your liking I know. They are called 'Jhumkas'." She said as she touched them with admiration. This behaviour was not new to Azira, this happened every time she came back from a distant country, rich in culture and heritage. For instance, last year or maybe last to last year she went to Japan, yes you got it right. She came back wearing a 'Kimono' a freaking Kimono. It wouldn't surprise anyone, if Samantha ended up working in these countries or maybe even married a Japanese or Thai or Indian or a Pakistani guy.
The car ride had gone smoothly, with lots of excitement , memories and gossips. After all they had to catch up on a lot.
7:30 pm
*door bell*
"Sam! Louise is here." screamed Mrs Piper.
"Good Evening , Mrs Piper." Louise said with an uncomfortable smile. He was a shy being, didn't like being around much people. Awkwardly he made his way into the living room. He looked rather curiously, trying to make out what object belonged to what country, he was certain that bowl on the corner table was definitely from Bhutan, because the design, was so much like their flag. Then he averted his gaze, to the painting but before he could guess about it. Samantha had already arrived.
He stood breathless. All he could say was.
"You look different." Without any expression.
Samantha didn't bother and just hugged him, as if her life depended on him.
"Hello, Louise." Azira winked.
"Okay pals, let's get going. I have to catch up on a lot."
After talking awhile, about how Fregal and Cain had struck a fight. And how Louise had been taking extra classes for spanish and Azira had been totally clueless about her life.
Azira was aimlessly looking through Samantha's books , when she set her hands on one very familiar looking book.
THE YEARBOOK
"Look! What I found."
"I know little fish, I know where you are going with this." Louise snatched that book away from Azira." It has got one my worst photograph and I am not going to let you make fun of me , let's say for the nth time."
"Give that book back to me, or else." Azira said looking around the room, in order to hurl it at him. While her long hair went swirling around. Samantha was so comfortable in her bed, she couldn't risked getting up. Just looked at her precious gems and how much she had missed them
"Or else what?" Louise raised his eyebrow.
Without any further delay, Azira hurled a pillow at him. And then there was no going back. One after the other went those soft bullets, earning chuckles and groans.
Downstairs all Mrs Piper could here that night , sitting in her lounge were giggles, laughter and more giggles. She smiled to herself remembering her own high school days. How those days had been the best days of her life.
A/N: So what do you think. It's quite short but it is still here. Comment about your favourite character so far. I'd like to know them, and I am rather lonely say hi! And it would be nice if you vote! ;)
And do you like that skirt? Honestly I do!
